Why did Death Stranding flop? It was hyped for years, yet it's already forgotten and was a huge disappointment, both from fans and critics

No. Friggen. Way. Lois.

Just like that time I tried to release a fifth playstation

People will probably remember the game for a long time. It's the rare AAA creative game.

>Why did Death Stranding flop?
It did not. It sold very well, was critically acclaimed, and sequel is confirmed already.

It just doesn't have mass appeal. You either hate it, or dump dozens of hours into it. There's no in-between

>Why did Death Stranding flop?
It was a commercial success, mate. Already on PS4.

>disappointment, both from fans and critics
One angry shitposting spic =/= fans and critics.
The game scored good reviews in Europe and Japan, and anyone who actually played the game loved it.

I bought it a few weeks ago, dumped 35 hours into it over a couple of days and then got burnt out around the time you get the Bolas Gun because I have some autistic urge to 5 star all the settlements before moving on

Ingot burned out right after meeting conan. I spent so much time doing roads all the way up to that. I'll pick it up again one day though

Nope

This delivery simulator sucks at all levels

Source Snoys

This piece of crap is already forgotten, dude.
Because it's a boring mess
And the worst openworld game ever

I too got totally addicted to 5 staring places, but it did not stop me one bit. Played like 10-12 hours in a row at best. Finally beat the story at around 160 hour mark, and I'd still have the post-game stuff to do.

>great visuals
>great audio
>great gameplay
>great implementation of online co-operation
Sorry, but this babe's the true GOTY.

Do you even lurk?
Don't answer that. Rhetorical question.

I have just finished it and it's amagnificient game, strage, but it's one of my best experiences with a game in my whole life.

I can understand it not being for everyone, and I really dobut it was a commercial failure, maybe it didn't generate as much revenue as they were expecting, but I'm sure it's still far from a flop.

I still fondly recall it, and I'm looking forward to replaying it on PC when I clean my backlog a bit.
Not to mention you're here seething about it like a little filtered casual shooter-baby you are, so well done - you played yourself!

It sold well but for me personally:
>Characters were flat and boring.
>Bosses were not a challenge or interesting like MGS bosses
>The creatures you face off against are not smart or scary
>The game mechanics are simplistic and I dont care for building roads
>And finally the main mystery plot has no pay off

Didnt flop just wasnt a ENTERTAINMENT EVENT OF THE YEAR GAME OF THE YEAR thing that snoys are obsessed with. Hope phil saves kojima

"Sequel" is a 1.5 glorified dlc crossgen thing like black spiderman or new horizon zero dawn game. Kojima was sad a major project wasnt picked up so that's all Sony is giving him money for

It's the FLOP of the generation
And the kojifags that cry for eating this shit are all sad

I can out at a time of major open world fatigue.

>FILTERED

>tfw trolls spoiled the entire game for me here but to their dismay I’m still enjoying it because it turns out the gameplay and presentation is better than the story

Why didn't it win GOTY? Much better than Sekiro

Retards post here
>waste your time with a delivery trash simulator...

As much as I love death stranding, I just can’t agree with this sentiment. Sekiro deserves a GOTY award, and iirc, Death stranding maybe won as many or more than Sekiro did

>Characters were flat and boring.
Sam alone is one of the better written characters in recent history. Only turbo-social butterflies who consume Hollywood over-acting can't seem to realize this.

>Bosses were not a challenge
True, but that depends on your play style as well.

>creatures
pretty darn spooky for a while. Then you get weapons ...

>mechanics are simplistic
I wouldn't call them simple. The amount of preparation and planning job you get to do are akin to an oldschool survival horror at best.

>I don't care for building roads
then you will definitely lose a huge chunk of the game's appeal point.
I myself spend over 70 hours in the Chapter 3, doing nothing BUT building the roads. And I loved it.

>main mystery
Not really the main point of the tale, though I wish that the W. Coast area would be better fleshed out. There's rumors about Sony cockblocking some of the darker stuff Kojima had planned, and that the release date would've been set earlier than devs anticipated, which could explain some of the minor fluctuations in quality.

>Why did Death Stranding flop?

Because it turns out Emperor Kojima doesn't have clothes.
Released from the clutches of Konami, free to deliver his vision with no compromise, he produces a boring, pretentious piece of shit with great graphics, shitty mechanics and some of the worst writing and story ever seen in a game. Death Stranding exposed him as not being good at his job.

>waste your time seething at other peoples enjoyment
ABSOLUTELY FANNY FANGLED

Cant believe people like this are still sobbing about MGSV

Finally, some schizo posting.

You are not enjoying Death Stranding. You are crying. You're in pain. You want to scream.

Actually DS proved that Kojima is exactly the fuel this dying industry needs. It's innovative, unique, and just damn much fun.

Hideous Kojimbo... A man without talents...

Fukushima, I am already a hack

> Lois! I'm taking the baby for a walk!

You really think a 4-5 yr dev AAA DS2 for PS5 is more likely?

easily the best game of the decade
keep on seethin' on

>next gen is so powerful that AAA develipers are showing it off with games with the same graphics from the same engine as titles from the previous generation
I will never understand how fans just seemed to accept this at face value

A perfect fit for a team I'm assembling..
