Splitstaff is amazing and fun
Nioh thread
cathat
I enjoyed and finished the darksouls series and Sekrio as well
Will I have fun with this?
Possibly. I dislike Dark Souls 1 and 3. 2 was fun. Bloodborne was okay but I enjoyed Sekiro.
Nioh does have a lot in common with Soulsborne but it's not "Dark Souls in Japan" like people claim.
It's a much more tactical game in terms of combat. It's not about the exploration and unknown. It's literally "pick a level, get to the end" kinda thing. Much much more emphasis on combat.
You can't really grind either if you get stuck though Nioh 2 (not the first) has AI summons in every level except ones that are just you fighting a boss, though you can still use coop.
There are those who said this day would never come, Claw Bros. What are they to say now?
Your furry RP is now complete
>10 days until dlc
>no trailer yet
Fucking christ.
I've played and enjoyed all the soulsbornes and Sekiro and more recently picked up Nioh 2 and I highly recommend it. It's pretty different. I avoided Nioh 1 cause people kept comparing to FromSoft's games, but aside from some superficial concepts (like fucking shrines... people call anything with shrines/checkpoints and a stamina bar a soulslike now), it's really got nothing in common. It's especially different from Sekiro.
It's mission-based with an overworld map you select missions from. Combat-wise, I think you're encouraged chain different stance-switches, weapons, skills, items, etc, into combos (well in my experience, when I pull it off is when I succeed) and have an active stamina recovery mechanism similar to gears of war's active reload. There's a fuckton of skills and mechanics behind forging equipment I still haven't completely mastered, but every day it becomes more familiar. Is it perfect? Probably not? I can already imagine the tediousness awaiting me because of having to savescum to forge powerful equipment due to randomness... But there's a lot of choices, and so far I'm having a blast.
We got the weapon gameplay, the only thing that mattesr
These idiots are releasing the trailer a day before release for whatever reason.
Why must KT do this to us.
I would rather get a sneak peek of the rest of the content and discover the weapon all on my own.
Labbing>Not knowing spoilers for a game with mediocre story
I really wish they would hurry up with the pc release.
I've never understood how people can say that Nioh 1 and 2 have bad stories. They're based on Japanese history. Sure there's some crazy magical shit, but the characters, setting, battles and so on all existed and happened.
Playing through Nioh for the first time, and while the story is really interesting, the way it's told leaves something to be desired. Intermittent cutscenes at the end of missions and lots of text...I don't know how I'd fix it, and maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time following it.
Not at all, my man. I understand.
>there's people who probably missed that the sakura tree you see during the last Tokichiro fight is the same you two meet under all those decades ago
i really fucking like that cover. the nioh 2 one feels kinda shit in comparison
What are you planning to pair the fists with?
I'm torn between splitstaff and a spear to fit the monk theme.
Pairing with 1kat to flash attack into claws after zooming in with Flying Swallow is the only correct option. Please make it real Team Ninja it's not fair.
1kat for honorabu samurai duels
1kat, as with any other weapon.
I just can't get rid of the humble single sword
Hard to miss when he literally says that.
>but I have a hard time following it.
Problably because of all the characters and different japanese names. The glossary is really good though, especially in 2. If you read a bit into Japanese history, you'll find that Nioh does a fucking spectacular job at detailed storytelling.
I read that I'm gonna have to fight Honda and Tachibana at the same time later in the game, and it made me lose all motivation to continue. I had a hard enough time fighting the raven tengu and flying bolt at the same time.
I'm plenty familiar with the history behind the game, it's always been an interest of mine. I recognize most of the characters I come across. I think most of my confusion comes from the comic book-esque cutscenes that follow possession via spirit division; I wasn't sure who was supposed to be narrating most of them.
All of the double fights are optional.
Also, William seems to just do whatever his new friends want him to do, just because they asked, rather than focusing on his mission of finding Saoirse. I didn't realize that at first, so it led me to wonder why he was on these missions and how he thought it would help him.
No kidding? I suppose that's good news, but some autistic part of me wants to do all the missions.
fighting real Tachibana was optional, too
and honestly it isn't that hard of a fight because you have access to all the skills by then. Honda just sits in one place and you can dispatch him quickly while kiting Tachibana.
that fight in particular isn't that much worse than the solo Moonshiggy fight since Honda barely moves
Just finished the first DLC, Yoshitsune wasn't one of the hardest bosses but he's one of the most fun
I've completed DeS, DS 1, and got the Platinum on Bloodborne and Sekiro. Got the gibs version of Nioh of PS+ whenever that was, finally started playing it recently and I'm having a blast. Liked it enough that I paid 15 shekels for the complete PC version so a bro and I could jolly co-op. It is similar to From stuff in some ways, but it's also more similar to shit like Diablo (loot management, etc.) in others.
Why does he sit in one place? He was pretty aggressive in the solo fight.
Speak for yourself. I need that silly hat for my character.
Because it's riddled with plot holes, most characters act like complete idiots and KT always does the most bland, inoffensive interpretations of the represented historical figures and they can't make up their minds if they want serious business historical drama or goofy anime shit so you get a blend that doesn't commit to either.

Will depend on the scaling stats. I'd like to use the katana but I doubt they'll even get one common stat. Maybe it will be the kusarigama because I don't use it much.
What plot holes?
