sucks we didn't get a true remake for ds1

it's fine. the roughness gives it more soul

Just imagine... good modern graphics, a few balance updates, a rework of all the rushed post-Anor Londo areas and some of the weaker bosses, and most importanly, the removal of poise like in DS3.

ds2 is the one needing a remake the most,if only they use the original concepts though

>removal of poise
that is not comfy.

I think that High Wall of Lothric is better and I'm tired of pretending it's not

learn how to balance your armor shitter

I literally don't understand that opinion. DS3s atmosphere was about 1000x worse than DS1. DS1s art direction reminded me of Team Ico games from the ps2 era while DS3s art direction reminded me of the shit I took this morning and Bloodborne.

it's fine but you speed through it and never come back.

That's because DS1 is 1000x better than DS3 with actual care put into it.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is retarded.

This, I love how ds1 straddles the line between PS2 and PS3

HWoL is too linear. If they opened the space up more and let you actually explore the portions of the castle in the distance then you’d be on to something.

Claim your weaponfu
For me, it's the Moonlight Butterfly Horn

you should see a doctor

Obviously the feeling is gone from DS for me now after having played it for hundreds of hours, but both it and Team Ico have this uncanny sense of discovery where a world unfolds in front of you. I got this vibe from Nier, as well. What are some other games with this show-don't-tell (at least directly) style of world building? It's great at getting the player interested.

I like the scythe

>that massive drop in quality after O&S
God I wish Miyazaki was given enough time to make Dark Souls.

The worst Zig Forums meme

It's not a meme. I played Dark Souls a lot and I replay it every year at least once. The game is so fun and open but the moment your beat O&S, the game starts to feel like a chore.

+15 none of this elemental faggotry

this game sucks

new londo, duke's archives and tomb with a sunlight maggot are unironically good.

Based DS3 chad

Cringe and homogenized-pvp-pilled

How was it? Before the Curse and the Apocalypse?

I didn't say they are bad. They're just not as good as the earlier areas. The level design and enemy placement is not as intricate and well thought of as the earlier levels.

True

Why do you have to wait until the end of the game to get MLGS? I fucking hate when a weapon I want to use for a run isn't obtainable until halfway through the game or later. at least cheat engine exists

what are some other games where the first area is the best area?

The problem with Dark Souls 3 is the focus on fast melee combat. It's just way too fast and hectic for a Souls game. It's clear that Miyazaki didn't want to make another Souls game.

we easily will

Kind of a dump isn't it?

To compound on this, there's way more emphasis on rolling to i-frame your way therough moves than there is on actual positioning. Playing an agile bastard was an option a lot of the time in DS1, but nowhere near required for most fights, but in 3, you have most bosses tracking perfectly and dumping out loads of quick moves you can't either shield or just get out of the way of.

lol dark souls 3 environments looks like it was made by AI, especially when you find huge gaping seams, floating trees, the floating candles in firelink and whatnot, but theyre tucked away so you dont notice them right away so i guess its okay, and dont even get me started on the crappy shaders, what the fuck happened to the bloodborne shaders?

no fucking care or soul

Black Knight Halberd makes the game so fucking easy lmao

Just beat the game twice in one day using that weapon

There used to be a hole in the geometry of farron swamp where you could just walk out of bounds

The gargoyl axe that you spin around with the heavy two hand attack. Or the spear. I literally just started properly playing this game after a decade though so im new. Just got to blighttown through the sewers even though i picked the master key lol. I like having options.

Gargoyle axe is really cool but the damaged is kinda shitty. Gargoyle halberd on the other hand is one of the best weapons in the game.
