Not really. Ff14 requires a fuckton of slogging through a pretty gay story. People meme about the 2s gcd but it's irrrelevant with most classes considering the amount of off globals you get. But getting to max level is worse than any other mmo.
Bdo is ok but it's pretty dead.
I've never touched ESO so I can't comment.
Overall wow is still the go to if you want an mmorpg experience. Ff14 is a theme park mmo in every sense so it's pretty much between those two.
Maybe one day those faggots at capcom will do a western release of dragons dogma online.

Children here are too young to remember when most Blizz shit got delayed. They've gotten too used to the Blizz that just launches broken, buggy trash to meet a deadline like every other studio.
I'm not saying they're ever gonna be that good again but being willing to say "this isn't working and we need more time to fix it" is a step in the right direction.
