Most Americans don't know anything of their own history besides slavery and the holocaust. This is by design. There might be some KKK and lynch mobs thrown in there. Maybe something about nuking Japan.

I don't think any child is taught about guys like Paul Bunyan or Davey Crockett nowadays. They're barely taught about the founders even, and what they are taught is twisted to be as negative as possible. The American education system has been moving away from teaching about our history and more towards teaching fiction that presents morals the govt finds palatable, like obeying authority even if you don't understand or it's against your best interests, or how important it is to hate your past if you're the wrong color.

That's what happens when the entire basis of your political system turns into whining about niggers and women not being given enough free stuff.

That's where you're wrong. Academic historians (revisionists) have completely warped the perspective of history, and the general cconsensus reflects this.
