Going above 1080p

>going above 1080p

for what purpose

Maybe because it looks better

I still play on 1080p when I want to achieve 144 fps

>buy 4K monitor
>just play pixelshit indie games and browse Zig Forums on it
ishygddt

seriously though, this is why I've never even considered going over 1080.
I love my pixelshit

Most games have to compensate after a certain scale. Nvidia fans never seem to consider all the lost resources from being special snowflakes.

i must be blind cause i see absolutely no difference between 1080p and 4k

because I'm not poorfag
3440x1440p 120hz is peak

This

get a load of this COPE

poorfags gonna poor

>theres a decent 4k 120hz monitor on sale now
>need something like a 3080 to pull 120 fps on demanding games
>I only have a 5700xt
>upgrading monitor and gpu would cost the same as a brand new budget pc

fuck, im stuck on 1080 for at least another year, im not ready to throw that much cash down yet

I legitimately don't like having to physically move my eyes a shitton to look around a massive screen while playing vidya. Big screens are obviously superior for movies though.

1440p looks better to me.

>poorfag
>poorfag

why are kids like this

^ mad

1080p is gonna keep getting cheaper so i don't care. keep advancing technology so i can save money.

^ sad

becaus thats what PC gaming has been shitposting all the time since 2012

>4K memes
>120hz memes

now console will have this as a standar but 80% of Steam is stuck at 1080p using GTX 1060.

For utility. On a PC game, high resolutions allow you to build a user interface that is several times as clean and detailed as on medium resolutions. Of course you wouldn't care if all you play is simplistic axaxaxa casual console garbage like JRPGs and From Software games or don't even have a PC.

4K looks way better and you’re kidding yourself if you say otherwise. Now that games can get above 4K 60 with the latest graphics cards, there’s no reason not to upgrade.

the new consoles won't pull off 4k at anything but the most graphically undemanding titles

finally getting a 4K monitor for the first time only because its forced for next gen so may as well

Because I can.

more p

make big p

I stll watch youtube at 240p

literally how, i can barely stand 720p

1440p UW @ 100+ FPS is peak.

4K is just now becoming something that you can actually do without ridiculous dips in framerate between games, unfortunately all of the fucking monitors are still garbage and are overpriced. 1080p is fine if that's al you can afford, but it's entry level.

>tfw still playing at 720p medium settings and barely get 60fps

lol

it saves bandwidth

for ultrawide just crank the fov
implementation is hit or miss though

I can’t really tell the difference but I don’t hate on people for buying what they want personally.
