Is Yakuza worth getting into?

Is Yakuza worth getting into?

All the games look EXACTLY the SAME!!!

They pretty much are, but they're also really easy to get into. So what you do is you pick one game, play through the main story and do as much side content as you want until you feel you're done with the game, then set it aside. Then when you feel the desire to play it again, you play a different Yakuza game.

>All the games look EXACTLY the SAME!!!
That's exactly the appeal.

Yes, and they are.

If you're a brainlet, yes. If you have average or above IQ, no.

Convince me to finish 5

please please please do it for me

If you aren't taking the time to 100% each game to explore all of the content they have to offer, and then taking a 3 month break in between games to prevent burn out and make the next experience feel like a return home, you aren't doing it right.

Yakuza 5 is fun. There's your motivation.

Kaichou......

You will inevitably start to feel bored. You will walk from pointless conversation to pointless conversation. You will read and read and read while character models stare at each other lifelessly. You will do the same unchallenging fights hundreds of times over where enemies pose no threat. You will stare at cutscenes that play out in the slowest way possible. You'll tell yourself the story has gripped you while trying to ignore how badly written it is.
You will wonder why Zig Forums and various ecelebs hyped up this series, and begin telling yourself that YOU must be wrong, not them. You'll tell yourself it's good just to feel a part of something.

That's what you're in for.

I like them, but like everything else, form your own opinion instead of asking /reddit/

Just watch them on youtube.

>getting into
you eitehr like it or you don't. doesn't even take long to figure that out.

If I like Mafia series will I like Yakuza

I didn't have to be convinced to finish 5, I just got through it quickly because it was fun.

If you're interested in Yakuza you should try it, but you shouldn't try it because you want something like Mafia.

Collection is on sale for 30, might do it

Finished 3 last night
What the fuck was with Hamazaki showing up and Kiryu getting stabbed like a retardwhat was the fucking point
Keep me from jumping into 4, guys. I need downtime but dunno what to play.

That was retarded. I think they just wanted a dramatic fakeout ending and that's the best they could come up with.

Don't think of them as standalone games. Think of them more as movie sequels. Or like a serial opera or something.

This can't be my kaichou, she isn't wearing addidas!

7-8 fucking sequels? Jesus Christ why isn't this guy done with the yakuza, how can you fuck up this bad. why can't this criminal organization use guns on him?

by checking this 5

Kiryu's superhuman, even when they fire missiles at him the missiles veer away in fear.

literally this

so they decide to keep fucking with him for 40~ years? I know 0 is in the 80s so I'm guessing the later games are current times?

Literal wizard powers, a very strong pure boi

Yeah, he's about 60 now.

maybe this isnt the game I thought it'd be

Maybe, I don't know. I couldn't.

My only complaint is I wish they'd use different maps with each game instead of the same place over and over.

I had 0 sitting on my downloads for a while then finally tried it back in May and got fully hooked. I'm up to 4 now.
