its a baseline with added variation, the sg for instance has less deviation than the ak but a larger pattern

of course, it also has the benefit of removing bullet spread RNG from determining who wins a firefight. It's not that I don't understand why it's there or how to make use of it, it's that it failed to be a compelling enough design choice to hook me for more than (admittedly) a couple hundred hours in 2013

How the fuck did people even know about this shit back in the day? I remember trying to play CS when it was still a mod and first took off in popularity, and got really frustrated and quit because I didn't understand why I couldn't kill anybody. Wasn't until CSGO came around and people started putting out videos explaining the mechanics and stuff that I learned what I'd been doing wrong and was able to play decently.

The way the recoil works in CS is absolute ass, the bullets follow their patterns regardless of what the model looks like, and the crosshair has only 2 purposes
1:tells you where your first shot will land (recently refuted, first shots at distance will deviate from the center)
2:tells you to let go of the trigger and sit still for 2 seconds so you can finally hit on target again

i've played csgo off and on since 2014 but even back then it only took me a week to learn the pattern and a month to perfect it. Unironically git gud or uninstall faggot.

This shit pisses me off, not because they put a set pattern or anything like that, but because the recoil is fucking massive.
I have fired multiple rifles in full auto, including an AK. In a real rifle, the vast majority of the recoil is backwards, not up. But game devs are noguns who think every weapon's recoil is identical to a .357 magnum.
A set pattern makes sense: someone who is used to holding a weapon typically holds it the same way each time, which means the force of the explosion would effect the weapon the same way each time. But these patterns are what you'd expect if you were firing the damn thing one-handed.

Hip-fire doesn't make as big of a difference as you'd think when you are at CS:GO ranges. It still makes some difference, sure, but if I point an automatic weapon at someone 10 feet from me, they are almost certainly going to die, regardless of the quality of my aim

I have no idea why they added random spread to csgo but it's barely noticable to me because i can actually aim and control the recoil pattern, unlike yourself.
