Demon's souls doesn't have an area that screams rush job like the sequels, you wouldn't even know that the broken archstone was originally planned to be a stage before being scrapped unless you dug through the game files.

Demon's Souls also doesn't have Tomb of the Giants and Lost Izalith, which is a plus.

I liked DS2, especially the dual wielding, but soul memory completely ruined matchmaking. I bought the game at launch and farmed Old Iron King as a sunbro until it was impossible for me to find another player. And don't tell me the ring in the dlc fixed things, because it didn't. If they recognized it was a mistake, they should have patched it out.

PVP was a mess like any other souls game, there was a ton of shit that went rampant before eventually getting patched one issue at a time and when shit did get patched they went overboard and killed it like the moonlight greatsword when its only issue was the fact you could buff it and I remember resonant weapon being nerfed to the point it was no different to dark weapon except it cost you souls when the original concept was using souls to give you a stronger weapon buff. It's not like other souls games don't suffer from there own shit but it's not like Dark Souls 2 was any better and that's not even counting objective mistakes like soul memory.

Estoc's always been the best weapon in the game. Soul Memory's a non-issue once you get 100k or so souls.

Soul memory was something continually expanded over the course of the game life before adding that ring but it's very concept is flawed, it takes no account to those who lose souls or use them to buy items over someone pumping them purely into levels. Ironically it can leave a major gap in character strength if a terrible player and good player of the same soul memory just by how the souls earned was spent.

Speaking of estocs I remember this series of videos by some shameless tier whore who buffed stacked and easily won while turtling with estocs, buff stacking was truly ridiculous when it was a thing.

It's better than 2 and 3 for sure. Personally, I prefer DaS.
