Holy shit this is the most fun I've had with a Pokemon game in years. I'm not even being ironic. They actually bothered to make a good game with their shitpost of a romhack.
>limits on item usage in battle
>feeling of discovery since you don't know what anything is or how it evolves
>extremely well done balance, almost everything is usable and Clovermon variety and distribution is great
>genuine laugh-out-loud moments
It unironically feels like the Shanghai.EXE (the best Battle Network "sequel" anyone could ask for) of the Pokemon series. Just like how the Touhou skin scares off most people from trying Shanghai, the preconceived notion of the game being full of forced unfunny memes will probably scare off most from trying Clover.
Anyone played this outside of /vp/?

Clover is legit great.
Clover ended up being much better than expected, yeah.
Which part of the game made you lose your sides the hardest?
>"you're lightyears away from facing Brock!"
>beat him and move forward
>there's a teleport tile
>it teleports you to outer space, where Brock is
Fuckers
also, encountering Motherfuck for the first time
Clover's great yeah. Glad you liked it
>>feeling of discovery since you don't know what anything is or how it evolves
This is the best part. I've always avoided romhacks with fakemons because they looked retarded, but turns out, it's actually a major pro.
Pretty fucking fun, the postgame actually makes use of shit like Ivs and Evs so you need to build a propper team instead of bruteforcing everything, pretty cool shit.
I liked completely melting Bavi with the ol' sneaky pebbles
Where can one find a copy of the latest english build of Shanghai.exe?
Good time
Trannies class uses the wrong color speech ("women" use blue)
as soon as the gym battle music started playing i giggled
>playing the meme shitpost /vp/ project instead of the actual serious one
beat clovers elite 4
is the postgame as decent?
Where the fuck are all the romhacks of 4th/5th gen anyway? Is GBA/3rd gen just easier to work with?
i think it's not quite as good as the main game but it has some incredible moments, including the true final boss
Never ever
You get a handful of new places to explore, the best city in the game, and everything scales to your team's level so you can experiment with new pokemon if you want
NEVER EVER
It's actually better. Ebin Isles are fantastic. Once you get there, make a new team though, everything scales and otherwise everything will be level 100
what fucking game is this?
>Is GBA/3rd gen just easier to work with?
yes, the process of editing maps has been blown wide open for a while with gen 3 hacks
there's also a bunch of great new pokemon like falcaptian
the demo alone still btfo's every other fangame
also it's still being worked on
sage isn't a romhack, it's essentials
Maingame has IVs and EVs too. I got outsped constantly by E4
>look guys I posted the same webm I posted the last 12 times, are you impressed with my shitty fangame yet?
>the postgame actually makes use of shit like Ivs and Evs so you need to build a propper team
I'm kinda dreading this. How time-consuming is breeding perfect IVs and EV training in Clover's postgame? I don't want to have to waste an hour or more for each 'mon I'm going to add to my team.
Clover is unironically a great game even if the board culture stuff bugs you.
Generally you see either shit with somewhat decent Ev distribution but plain 0IV at everything, or perfect 6/31s with no Ev training, at least in the main game.
I belive that every Cynthia mon has perfect IVs, but blank Evs, by example
It's not as bad as you think but they do give you a convenient place to actually go grind exp/EVs and max out IVs if you find a specific rare item
You unlock a facility that lets you reset EVS, bost every IV into 31 and train shit in specific areas for each stat, not as quick as just pumping vitamins in SwSh, but still tolerablly fast.
>plays Pokémon clover because of /vp/ saying how great it is
>immediately encounters transphobia racism and sexism
>never touches it again
I’m not missing out on anything. I refuse to engage in any problematic media.
This is a great game and I'll keep saying that. the OST is also superb
Best part of the game was the 6 motherfucks at the end of Victory Road.
i thought i was completely done with and hated pokemon until playing clover. it's fuckin incredible
>Its an inverse battle so you cant cheese it with ghost types
Christ I guess there's a reason the game tells you not to Nuzlocke it
Pokemon sage
>I've always avoided romhacks with fakemons because they looked retarded, but turns out, it's actually a major pro.
This is me. I've played romhacks before but always avoided Fakemons because I didn't see the point of playing with bootleg monsters. Now I understand the fun of playing Pokemon for the first time was discovering everything; encountering a new Pokemon and wondering if what its type is and if it'll be strong, seeing what works and what doesn't, accidentally discovering an evolution, trying to guess what the opponent's type is, wondering what moves your 'mon will learn next, etc.
People who are glued to a wiki playing Clover are missing out. but I understand consulting it here or there if you really get filtered by the occasional boss.
