its technically done by creating and making up new information for what wasn't there on the original footage, and the ai upscalers aren't using the raw footage that the historians have that isnt online, so there's unnecessary compression the AI is making up for already. So from a historical standpoint its not as accurate to life. Rather its a really, really good guess.
