kirby

Uhh, pretty much any Sith Lord. Katarn really isn't that powerful.

Is there a single character Kirby cannot hard counter?

Kirby is pretty terrifying when you think about it.

Name a character you think Kyle Katarn could beat

Gordo

me in movie battles 2
I'm a much better dueler than kyle

all of them

retard

I gave up on dueling, it changes constantly, gunnerz for life

Does Katarn have the power of the souls of thousands of dead jedi or something?

Mario

Considering he isn't stronger than his master Luke who is weaker than Palpatine, and lost a fight to Caedus, your assessment is incorrect.

iirc kinda, he gets his force powers for some well of force energy collected over time or something like that, I don't exactly remember its been a while since i've played through the dark forces games

anakin skywalker if he won the duel, obviously

Dude punched several krayt dragons to death consecutively, so no not many people could do shit about him.

Starkiller without a doubt, no one in any Star Wars game has greater feats. He deorbited a fucking Star Destroyer with ease.

LOTF era Luke would have shit stomped Sidious.

Legends Luke was a god among men and would kick Kyle’s ass if it really came down to it.

Kylo Ren maybe. But Kyle wouldn't have a chance against Rey Palpatine.

It's been a while since I played as well, IIRC in Dark Forces he went to the Valley of the Jedi and got his force powers there, returned it after he killed Jerec, and then went and grabbed it again after he fought Desann. Seems kind of like an OP powergrab if he can just show up and take it whenever he wants to.

i don't blame you, the latest patch for it is absolute ass and it takes far too much consistency and autistic dedication to get anywhere approaching "good"

open mode is far more fun anyway

Woulda coulda shoulda nigga

I agree, Kyle looks better with a yellow lightsaber than blue, goes better with his outfit colors.

Kind of a misuse of the character in my opinion. Being the best with lightsabers or Force magic was never what defined Luke in the OT.

So why was Rey being a Mary Sue a problem when Kyle Katarn, Revan, Nihilus, and Starkiller, among others, were worse?

after Jedi Knight 1 he cut his connection off with the force or something that's why he has to go back to the Valley cause of Desaan

How is Starkiller a Mary Sue? He straight up gets killed by the final boss in both his games.

>Nihilus
He wasn't anything like a Mary Sue you dumbass, he was a slave to his hunger.

>able to go toe-to-toe with Vader or Palpatine and overwhelm them
>was responsible for the Rebel Alliance being created
>in the DLC, goes and defeats both Luke and Leia as well

>the most powerful sith lord ever who is so strong he's beyond your comprehension and who singlehandedly wipes out planets without lifting a finger
It's like something out of a shonen anime.

In Legends he is pretty much regarded as one of the most powerful jedi to exist, and he's pretty much unparalleled with the force, and it makes sense that he's a powerful warrior coming from the Legends canon standpoint, as the galaxy after the empire was just chock full of even greater threats they had to overcome, like the Killiks and the Yuuzhan Vong, so it was pretty much a necessity that Luke had to fight and be powerful.
However his role in the EU canon isn't the strongest jedi, but he's more of the mentor of the jedi, the one who rebuilt the order and ushered in and guides a new generation and era of Jedi. He's more of a teacher now if anyways, imparting his wisdom on the future of the jedi. That pretty much lines up to how I envision him after ROTJ.

Old Republic Sith and Jedi compared to OT and post-ot era is like the Greek Heroic Age and its heroes compared to modern humans incapable of performing the feats demi-Gods of old could do as well as living under very different conditions. Aside from access to vastly superior and expanded knowledge, entire life of both Sith and Jedi (select path) was based around conflict and fighting from early childhood. There is no comparison with Clone Wars era Jedi who were primarily diplomats and military advisors although still superior to normal military men. As we go into post-OT we have men like Kyle Katarn who, likely, got introduced into war and fighting in their late adolescence or early adulthood. Many took up Jedi trainings at a rather advanced age (25+) compared to the traditional 0-6. There is no comparison. Old Republic timeline is a state of near-perpetual war on a galactic scale which hardened both orders with Jedi enduring several purges and Sith constantly fighting anyone in display of their vulnerable toxic masculinity.

Powerful =/= Mary Sue or whatever the male equivalent is. A Mary Sue is a flawless character, Nihilus was literally a flaw, a wound in the Force.

Good point, the Exile would be more of a Sue

Starkiller was raised as a tool for Palpatine and Vader, was tortured, and sacrificed himself (or didn't if he isn't a clone in 2) to save his friends.
Nihilus is a result of the horrors of Malachor and becomes all consumed by his hunger
Revan, while being a genius tactician and was a legendary jedi and sith lord ended up being betrayed by his own apprentice and had his mind stripped by the jedi council.
Kyle Katarn has less but he straight up fell to the dark side and had to have one of his apprentices bail him out.

Nihilus fought in the Mandalorian Wars and lost pretty much everything. He was on Malachor V when the Mass shadow generator went off, he somehow survived and was lost on the planet. He grieved for all the dead and slowly corrupted himself to the dark side, where all the trauma culminated into a hunger for the force. So he sucked out the life force of everything that came close to him, and built his power off of that. He's succed a considerable amount by the time he succs a whole planet.
