Terraria. Starbound is shit.
Spent a lot of time playing terraria
Spent a lot of enjoyable time playing starbound.
Terraria because I've never played that retard shit.
>Spent a lot of enjoyable time playing starbound.
how?
Terraria. I've played under 2 hours of Starbound but owned it for years. I first got Terraria when it was brand new on Steam. I disliked it but came around to it after substantial free updates that I wish Minecraft had and Starbound. Terraria actually has some fucking direction.
Terraria. Not partial to 1.4, but honestly the torch posting on Zig Forums was infinitely more annoying than anything in 1.4 anyways.
What don't you like about 1.4?
Terraria of course. Can't show the time I spent playing it because muh pirate it before I bought it in Steam, but goddamn playing Terraria for the first time is kino.
I prefer slower paced games with less grinding.
Terraria of course. Starbound has been shit since alpha ended.
900+ hours in both, so I guess I liked them equally
How would you improve Starbound other than just removing the Space Jesus stuff?
Also Starbound, mostly because it has slightly better building.
Terraria. The only reason I spent more than an hour in starbound is because of the sexmod that let's you go around to alien planets and knock up all the women but the same 4 animations eventually got old not to mention the devs(sexbound, starbound devs are pozzed) are straight up spergs so I ditched it and never looked back.
Starbound is souless garbage. 10000 procedurally generated planets will never measure up to just 1 Terraria world.
I played Terraria almost 10 years ago and I didn't like the game. I recently saw that the latest update was released and I decided to buy after reading a thread about the autistic user that opened the game in 20 different windows to role play with different characters at the same time.
I played another hour and a half and never came back.
the new housing system feels like less like it encourages building, and more like a chore any time you want to use certain npcs.
the torch luck fiasco got us a mini-event, and was basically a net positive in the end, but feels like it undermines the whole "build multiple towns across the world" thing since it's a pseudo limiter on what torches to use in your towns.
Have Zoologist give the pylon earlier than she does, since getting it so late makes teleporters a much easier option.
First they'd have to remake the entire game to undo the years worth of assfuck it recieved.
>Give every race it's own main questline(for example if you're human you help humanity find a new home world and begin establishing itself)
>Re-add cold and heat mechanics
>Scrap the improved matter manipulator concept and re-add the old picks and drills
>Add racial perks and debuffs
>Add procedurally generated minifactions you can fight or work with
>NO FUCKING MOON GHOSTS
Terraria Obviously.
revert it back to alpha and go from there, actually finish the partially implemented features instead of removing them
terraria
due to it being on console. i got it on ps3 then vita then PC then ps4
ive have starbound on PC but my pc is still too shit to get steady fps so games suffer and makes my eyes bleed
put starbound on ps4 and you get my money again
>random ass worms flying out of nowhere 10 minutes in
fuck terraria
don't like the visuals anyway
Make planets more unique and add more things that can generate, it's awful seeing the same dungeon on different planets.
Completely get rid of the story, and add different reasons for each race being out there, it's so frustrating that every race is the same.
On that topic, add racial bonuses. Hylotl could breathe underwater for longer, Novakids could survive hot temperature without protection, Florans could get stat bonuses on planets with more vegitation and sunlight, Humans could get bonuses from crafted weapons. There's so much potential for the races to be unique but right now they're reskins.
Remove the fucking story and everything surrounding it, the game is a space sandbox and it forces a shitty story that no one cares about. Something I especially want removed is the fucking fuel crystal boss that you have to fight at the start of the game, I hate it so much and it makes every playthough feel the exact same. The boss isn't even fun to fight. The game should feel like your own space adventure and that's not what it is at the current time.
Add back unique environmental and temperature hazards, like having to stay near a campfire when it's cold or if you're on an irradiated planet you have to wear weaker radiation proof armour. I haven't played in a while but from what I remember the current environmental hazards can be circumvented by just equipping one thing and I think that's terrible for the game.
Terraria.
Vanilla Starbound is rotten dogshit. Playable modded. Terraria has more substance though.
I have literally spent an infinite % more time on terraria.
Also forgot, Queen slime really doesn't feel worth fighting. Yeah I get it, a lot of her drops mimic king slime, but those drops also come at the start of the game, where an early mount, a grappling hook and a neutral-class armor set are useful, but not at the start of hardmode (except maybe the armor set, but you also have to farm the boss for it, and it's only equal to mythril).
Zig Forums told me Starbound was terrible so I never played it. Should I believe you now, or is it actually a fun game?
More exploration based content.
Easily Terraria but I've spent my fair share of time in Starbound. Honestly, it's the music that does it for me. The game may be a husk of broken dreams and promises but when you're standing on a planet at night and the background is illuminated by a giant neighbouring planet and this music kicks in, it's peak comfy.

No it's very bad. Had potential way back in 2013 but that's long gone.
any other games kinda worth it?
