In hindsight, was it better than Eternal?
In hindsight, was it better than Eternal?
Yes
Not even close.
fpbp
No, Eternal is a masterpiece while 2016 is merely good
Yes. Beat the game on hardest difficulty and had a load of fun.
Dropped Eternal after 10mins. Boring. I'm not a monkey. I just want to shoot shit.
My only complaint associated with Eternal is whenever you duck behind cover and start to come out fireballs are already being thrown your way. Basically, fuck enemies who're tracking me through walls.
Absolutely.
Is eternal the ultimate pleb filter? I'm starting to think that may be the case.
Yes, specifically the Marauder. Zig Forums was crying about him non-stop on release.
Hell no, and I don't understand anyone who says it is. The game literally has two environments, samey looking UAC complexes, and samey looking Hell area's. It also feels so much slower in comparison.
Sometime simplicity is better.
2016 is borderline unplayable after Eternal.
If you faggots say that original (a game I thought was fucking trash - boring and low as fuck) is better then eternal then perhaps its (eternal) isn't even worth giving a shot
Ultrakill is better than both and it's a halfbaked early access game
Don't understand why people freak out over him, he died in like one hit
I loved Doom Eternal. I loved the art style, the gameplay, pretty much everything about it. But if I had to choose one over the other, I'd choose 2016. It's just more fun to pick up and play. If you put Eternal visuals onto 2016, I think you'd have the best Doom game
They aren’t even similar games. Some people don’t like Eternal because they are fags, it’s easily one of the best games in a decade.
>Ultrakill is better than both
True. Can't wait to see what the rest of the game is like. Its one of the only times I have payed for an early access game and have felt satisfied with it.
No, only contrarians and scrubs like it more.
Finishing 2016 gives a very strong impression that they had bigger ambitions for the levels of the game but gave up 30-50% of the way in.
The 3rd act collapses into a railroad of corridors and combat areans.
THIS. I even pre-ordered Eternal for 80 dollars and played on launch weekend. Ultrakill blew it out of the water in terms of gameplay. I can't stop playing it, its so damn good bros. even the music is better
Serious Sam 4 > both
2016 is unplayable after getting used to Eternals gameplay. Dash and meathook changed everything.
I'm so tired of seeing youtubers trying to destroy this game's reputation, and when you watch their analysis video, the guys are playing on Normal - coop, in the most casual way possible. The game is fantastic.
Serious Sam on Serious is the most intense FPS gameplay you'll find.
Adding the hook to the SSG is the best thing that happened to FPS since dynamite in Blood.
>Forces you to use glory kills for health
>Forces you to use the chainsaw to get ammo
>Can barely carry any ammo
>Ammo/health drops are scarce as fuck
>Giant meme sword is just another fucking one hit kill animation
>Boss fights suck
>Plethora of enemies that just rush the fuck out of you and do aoe attacks
>Le "chess game" meta
>Having "Buff totems" when the archvile is in the fucking game
>The sound mixing is awful
>Marauder; exists
God damn it, I just want to shoot shit and not be forced to glory kill/chainsaw some fucking goon every 2 seconds. At least the gore was cool and they made the cutscenes skippable this time.
>Forces you to use glory kills for health
Already wrong on your first point.
Arcade Mode was fucking incredible. more games should have an Arcade Mode.
If you played through to get the crucibal you should have gotten the infinite ammo cheat. The replay with cheat codes on is pure god mode kill everything.
I love Doom, I love Titanfall
I felt the Marauder was inspired by the bunny hopping gameplay of Titanfall 2, marauder was so much fun, why is a challenge a bad thing in games?
>why is a challenge a bad thing in games?
It's not, but the average player is not very good at vidya.
