>SM64 DS is good
I love this new zoomer meme.

It's certainly better than the original

>more content bad

kys srsly

superior version is the unreal engine one senpai

bad post
64DS was a great game but the DPad and 8-way movement severely limited it
Not enough to ruin it, senpai

next you're going to say the 3ds OoT was better

It was better for this alone

I remember trying to unlock Waluigi

Based retard

The only people who defend this port are zoomers who grew up with this version first.
I'll play along and force this meme along with you because I think it's funny, but it will never not be a mediocre port.
The best part about 64 DS are the minigames. In other words, the best part about the game is when you're not actually playing Super Mario 64 with its gimped control scheme.

so you didn't read my post where i literally acknowledge the gimped control scheme
got it
fuck off kid
T. 27

3ds oot actually is better
Mm 3d a shit though

And you acknowledging the shit controls somehow makes the game and its controls less shit?
If a 3D platformer has shit controls then it's a shit game. Full stop.

It's almost like the Switch has a joystick

It's almost like the game is hardcoded to move in 8 directions at two specific speeds (walk and run) and a joystick emulating a d-pad will do nothing to fix that.

>3ds oot actually is better
not by a long shot

It's almost like they can fix that

>It's almost like they can fix that
Like they "fixed" the almost 1:1 ports of SM64 and Sunshine?
Keep living in your fantasy world where Nintendo bothers to put effort into anything.

the 3DS had a circle pad and it still controlled like shit compared to the original

But that's what this thread is about

Yes by a long shot

3ds oot butchers the atmosphere and style while adding nothing but convenience

You're a fucking crackhead it's literally the same game but with updated textures and better models. How is the atmosphere changed? Also it does add shit for convenience, the bottom screen helps so fucking much. What are you talking about??

nice reading comprehension

>updated textures and better models
which all look like fucking ass, especially link himself
>Also it does add shit for convenience
>nothing BUT convenience
>key word: But

>new
I bought my DS in 2005 and I immediately thought it was better than the original. I love both but I honestly had more fun all around with the DS version

youtu.be/1FhOowSu2ao

If we're ignoring the somehow worse control scheme it was definitely better than the original. That being said, Nintendo didn't even bother fixing the controls so it's kind of a moot point.

The 3DS version increases the brightness, contrast, and saturation to have this very dark old game meant for televisions be visible on the tiny 3DS screen. There is a good comparison photoset that people post here often. I’m not exactly its objectively better or worse than the original, just that it is significantly different enough to alter the “feel”

the redesigns are shit too

is it just me or is it also a dealbreaker that they added a run button? it is so clunky to have to hold down a button all the time to not move at a snails pace

No you dont get it, modern "fans" dont care about Nintendo post-Iwata putting in any effort at all, mario 64 with different characters and somehow runs perfect in a shitty 2004 handheld? Noo we cant have that only the version I played when I barely could understand whatever the plumber was doing is worth remembering.

OOT with optimized gameplay and actually decent framerate with the definitive version of Master Quest? nooo those 2 seconds of the ganon fight Ive never cared about until Zig Forums told me say the original is better.

We even have schizos pretending they enjoy the original metroid over zero mission because "muh atmosphere" or some other non-argument, the worst part is that this is likely the same people that shit on modern Pokemon, but with how lazy they want other series to be I wouldnt be surprised if every Nintendo franchise becomes like it.

I dont get why they didnt made it or at least added the option to make it a walk button instead since no one usually goes at low speed in mario, in fact I remember M64 being perfectly playable on a keyboard with only a few moments where going slow is helpful

Does it have the same glitches/exploits like the original n64 has?

I grew up with the N64 version, you dimwit

I understand that people are upset that there was no analogue stick but did it really fuck so much with the overall experience? I feel like the control pad was only slightly less enjoyable to handle but I pulled off every move effortlessly

That's my point basically
Yeah 8way movement kinda sucked but these retards are crying "OMG RUINED" when it still played pretty well

I agree with you but c'mon Pokemon is an entirely different issue. Those fuckers at Game Freak fuck fans over every single time by removing fun shit instead of building upon existing mechanics. Why the Battle Tower wasn't a thing in every game after Crystal still baffles me. With Sword and Shield, they finally showed that it's not that hard to make a 3D Pokemon game but they have a long way to go

Currently playing it on drastic emu on my phone with a ps4 controller, shit is cash
