What does Zig Forums think of the Borderlands games?
I liked the first one, now playing the second one and well... I think I've been Stockholm'd into liking a series that is objectively bad.

BL1
>at say level 5
>want to kill the badass enemies
>can't chip away at health, do (((1))) damage
why i dropped it

they bad

If you like the game you like it. Why so insecure and in need of approval from Zig Forums?

1 is fantastic, one of my favourite games. I just wish it were longer
2 is also very good but not nearly as much so. Atmosphere is all but gone but it has some great dlc
Pre sequel is like a bad dlc for 2
I cant even finish 3

I'm not sure how it is for 1 because I haven't played it in nearly a decade but I replayed 2 and played Pre-sequel for the first time recently. When it comes to gunplay these games are top notch, it's just as soon as any character starts talking the game becomes painfully cringey. I wouldn't say you've been Stockholm'd, OP. You're just enjoying the 1 half of these games that's really good whilst suffering through the other half that's really bad

1 is fucking awful. It has lackluster pacing, awful level-design, and in general is just a boring game.
2 is fantastic despite the tonal shift, gameplay is great although you wind up finding better guns from quests than random drops. Really can't say anything wrong with it outside some overdone humor.
The Pre-Sequel is a mediocre game with worse level design than 1 but with some fun mechanics. Have tried playing it 3 times and haven't beaten it any of them.
3 is fantastic although the story is really surprisingly bad. Gameplay-wise though it's a more refined version of 2 with better weapon variety.

Skip 1 and Pre-Sequel, play 2 and 3.
Tales is great too.

3's content is trash and boring but the core gameplay and character building aspect of it is really good
2 is probably the best though

>Skip 1 and Pre-Sequel, play 2 and 3.

I enjoy 1. I think it has the best feeling guns and elemental damage. Also the best scaling and least spongy enemies. That said I still love 2 for the gameplay and classed. I really love Krieg and Maya. Slag sucks. Wish legends were more common. I also played TPS. Gameplay wise I think it may be superior to 2. Cryo is better than slag and lasers are really fun. Classes are mostly fantastic but some rely too heavily on stacks. The world itself is way too small and bland. Claptatsic voyage is great and somewhat makes up for this. Never played 3.

1 is a prequel to 2 and pretty funny. Worth playing imo if you already plan on playing its two sequels.

I know nothing about 3. Is Krieg in it?

Fun games, awful writing.
Jack is the only consistently good character in a franchise where most everyone is just awful with mild exceptions.

He is so good, even when they killed him off he is still the best character.

Not as a playable character. Gaige too

2 was really good besides MAINSTREAM REFERENCES

I'm playing 3rd right now and really want to play as Siren but every time she speaks I cringe in pain

I hate to admit it but there are a couple of lines in 2 that make me chuckle. Too bad that channeled into good writing everywhere else.

*too bad that DIDN'T
Fuck.

Her and the robot are the best

1 was based, 2 was good but too "post-ironic" and focused on memes, 3 has best gameplay and visuals but story and many characters suck ass

What the fuck were they thinking with Lilith. Worst fucking character. It hurts even more because I loved her in 1.

it was never good

How does claptrap sound in 3?

Same as usual, but others seem to acknowledge that he's retarded

I still don't get where the "claptrap is the worst most annoying thing ever" thing came from. Only his bounty board renders seemed mildly annoying in 1. Always seemed forced.

I wish the world in TPS was better and I wish the writing wasn't the worst in the series. The gameplay was fantastic.

Probably a meme pushed by gearbox. Marketing.

That's thanks to his VA, Jack is a shit character, but Clarke's voice and acting makes him easily the best among characters who just read their lines

They turned him into a meme on purpose

I was watching some guy on YouTube playing UVHM, I can't remember his name, but he made it look so fucking easy. How the fuck do I get good at this shit. He was on OP level 8 and just killing everything. Was it autism?

2>3>1

If Borderlands 2 had BL3's movement and gunplay, it would be perfect.

BL3 was great but the story really fucks up the experience. Also too much of it takes place on Eden 6 imo

BL2 and 3 don't have that issue

Why do people prefer 2? The story wasn't as unbearable as 3 (but it was still shit) but the retarded exponential scaling on everything ruined the whole game.

>LVL 49 Legendary does 500k dps
>LVL 51 White does 100 million dps

Randy must've thought that big numbers=BADASS and ruined the flow of everything.

not true, in the german version of BL2 Jack is hilarious aswell with different german voice over. So the writing of his dialogue is at least bretty gud.

>be constantly hounded by friends to play borderlands 2 with them
>buy it on sale and try it
>it's shit

The writing started to veer towards annoying shiy in the claptrap revolution dlc. Interestingly enough, that's when Burch joined the writing team. Though even with him gone it's still shit so I don't know.
