I've been browsing the threads for a pretty while and that's how I realized most of the shitposting was sparked by a bunch of people that want this game to sink for some reason, inbetween the avatarfag, original shazamposter and whatever, and the "I'm still buying the game" posts are just counter-shitposting, there's a stronger case to be made about how Cyberpunk is anti-shilled since its release window is around the time as both Cold War and Valhalla than shilled, but if you ask me there's no shilling or anti-shilling involved, it's just shitposters shitting on the game, the backlash against shitposters and the shitposters saying the backlash aka counter-shitposting is actually just empty shilling

People overblow how many shills there are on this board. Sure some AAA companies hire people to make threads discussing their games but I see people throw the term shill around for any positive thread about a recent game.

That said, Genshin Impact is absolutely shills. I gave it a full afternoon of my time because I had hoped that the game would improve enough on the team's last project that I could enjoy it while ignoring the gacha shit, and I just couldn't. Everything other than the decently interesting elemental system is as bland and boring as it gets. The game is a 6/10 on a good day, less if you dock points for the gacha drop rates. What's sad is that there's enough people that aren't paid shills defending fucking gacha anyway, despite some really uninspired character design and combat that is literally just mashing attack until your cooldowns are done, only switching to change effective ranges or elemental damage types.
