Zig Forums has always been impossible to truly gatekeep due to anonymity (though anonymity is a good thing), which sucks, and yet at the same time it refuses to adapt or even improve anything, meaning the flaws will only get worse with time, and the site is also getting contaminated by other sites while people treat the site as nothing more than a place to shitpost in. The only change that happened in recent memory was adding several boards in which vidya discussion that otherwise couldn't survive on Zig Forums can thrive as the boards are far slower than Zig Forums, and this was after several years of no real modifications except one time when they listened to /qa/ and removed (you) notifications, which was quickly reverted because everyone hated it being gone, but at the same time also gave a lot of people hope that the staff who can change things actually browse /qa/
