Yeah, I agree. Those grapes are probably way too sour.

It's not inherently bad, technology just a shit

>inherently bad
care to elaborate?

>it's another sour grapes VR IS DOOMED because it hasn't overtaken traditional gaming yet thread
This is getting tiring isnt it?

Technology will advance, but traditional gaming will always be the focus over alternatives. VR as its own entity will fade and slowly be incorporated into traditional gaming, until they are fully seamlessly integrated in the form of VR rooms. But that won't be for like 70 years.

vr is more of a supplement to regular gaming. There's some stuff that's better in vr and some that are better in regular gaming.

>vr is more of a supplement to regular gaming
I hope in the future all games have a VR option. I'm sure they can find a way to make the camera work with 3rd person. I think Hitman 3 is doing that.

>70 years
That's what I thought about even basic VR when I was a kid in the 90a playing 8bit shit. Technology is only advancing faster and faster.

VR at this point feels more like an arcade exhibit than a product I would want in my house but that is mostly because the only VR game that interests me is Beat Saber.

Maybe VR isn't meant for long-term gaming?

False.

Once we have the technology to ACTUALLY make VR indistinguishable from reality, it'll be the only thing we play. On other words, VR will be bad for the next 200-300 years.

Nah Hitman 3 is doing first person

What's your actual argument, what is inherently bad about it and why can it never be overcome by any method whatsoever?

yes

if i want to pick my dick in real life i don't need a brain implant to do it

going to be pretty funny when playing first person shitters on a tiny phone is the dominant form of gaming and you're signing into facebook to play second life with your virtual girlfriend

What gets me the most is that what do these people think technology is heading towards? We're gonna continue playing on mouse and keyboard for the next 40 years? That's just such narrow thinking.

ill buy it once you guys finish beta testing it for me

>what do these people think
not a lot

no you're going to play it on a piece of glass on your phone lmao

Praise the Omnissiah

I've only tried two VR headsets but both produced a very slight but incredibly annoying effect of double vision. I don't wear glasses so I dunno what the deal is.

Doesn't really seem worth it until we get gloves with good feedback anyway.

did you adjust the IPD? or were you playing garbage HMDs without IPD adjustment?

its not bad, its just we don't have tons of actual video games for it. most of the "games" we have for VR are just glorified tech demos

Sounds like an IPD problem, your pupil distance might have been too wide or too close together to get the intended effect without adjusting the headset.
A lot of headsets have ways to adjust this, you can measure it by measuring the millimeters between the center of one of your pupils from the center of your other pupil.

>this thread again
yawn

Due to 70% of the population getting motion sick, the only good VR games are those without artificial locomotion and use of roomscale. Thus, you don't need a powerful PC and a 299$ quest 2 is unironically the best purchasing choice if you actually want to get into VR.

Who cares if plebs get sick. Most of the world is lactose intolerant, but why should I give a fuck about those fags?

Here. Now go do something better with your time.
