Why do you guys hate first parties in Smash so much? I mean the good, recent ones like Incineroar, Greninja, Byleth and MInMin? I don't understand what issue people have with these characters being in the game.
Why do you guys hate first parties in Smash so much? I mean the good, recent ones like Incineroar, Greninja...
Because every single one of those have better picks for characters from the same games but they refuse to use them.
basically all roster hate can be traced back to being salty that some personal favorite didn't get into the game, and they feel that because they personally like a character more, it somehow "deserves" to be in the game more than whoever they're seething about
>I mean the good, recent ones like Incineroar, Greninja, Byleth and MInMin?
Terrible bait
Because when you introduce a DLC aimed at adding a few more characters it’s disappointing to see first parties.
How is it bait? They're fine
Min-Min was fine. Byleth would too, if Lucina was just a Marth skin and Chrom not in at minimal.
Pokemon are meh, OP is a fag for not saying King K. Rool, Ridley, or Inklings though yes.
it's way more disappointing to seeing shill and marketing pics, or brand new no history blatant characters over requested old ones.
you're a dipshit.
I automatically hate a character if the sole audience for them are coomers.
Incineroar is only liked by bara furries, Min Min and Byleth exist solely for waifufags, etc. Apologize for spamming the board with disgusting porn of these characters, and then I'll consider giving them a second chance.
>it's way more disappointing to seeing shill and marketing pics, or brand new no history blatant characters over requested old ones.
It's the opposite imo.
>third party shitter bitch
No it isn't. Rex/Tora/Morag/Zeke/Elma would be great picks.
Akira Howard would be amazing. Same with any BotW champion or major fighter in AoC.
Making Octolings fully different from Inklings. Etc.
There is nothing wrong with first parties at all.
Minmin was perfect. They need to put more 1sf party from new IP’s in for fuck sake
>xenoblade is niche in west
>shulk in smash
>instantly popular
same for bayonetta. Why they didn’t try this with Wonderful 101, Sin&Punisent, Ever Oasis, Dillon, etc is beyond me
because none of these people are iconic or allude to an interesting moveset, and just feel like commercials for the latest entries in the series instead of picking from a huge pool of older already beloved characters
the only one I was excited for was min min, I didnt play arms but I felt like it could have been a cool idea, but I just don't like playing her
Im happy shes in nonetheless though because they made her interesting
>Incineroar
I prefer Decidueye but he's fun, his personality and side and down specials save him
>Greninja
Well-deserved, most popular pokemon
>MinMin
Basically the best possible choice and plays uniquely, but not necessarily in a good way, and yeah ARMS wasn't exactly a hit
>Byleth
You are baiting aren't you
>>Greninja
>Well-deserved, most popular pokemon
literally flavor of the gen and already forgotten.
Won the largest official pokemon popularity poll ever less than a year ago
Speaking personally, I don't hate any of them. In fact I feel kind of sorry. But at the same time, I'm not going to deny that I have my own preferences I rather have served in comparison either. Out of those, Min Min is the most alright for me since she's from a new IP (Generally prefer new IPs joining with some exceptions). If another DLC in the future was a First Party along with being a new IP, people will most likely go easier. Also and more importantly for most people in general, I'm sure for the people who do hate them, they wouldn't care if they get their one most wanted character, if they haven't already.
>good, recent ones like Incineroar
You lost me there furfaggot.
Nintendo has great characters but they don’t pick them outside of base game so no one wants Nintendos shit dlc choices. Everyone seems to want the new impa character and skull kid, midna, pig ganon etc... people like Zelda characters but they don’t happen. Porky, Bandana Waddle Dee, Dixie Kong, Waluigi Etc.. all have fans as well but again Nintendo isn’t choosing characters people want they choose shit to shill their games. Ironically I think if anything Byleth hurt sales, I might have picked up three houses at some point but now I just associate it with that shitty smash reveal.
Incineroar is based. The rest I can take or leave.
>Incineroar is only liked by bara furries
Wrong, I only like him as a wrestling fan. I would rather have Hawlucha, but you take what you can get
Because most of the really good first parties are in the game already.
There are a lot of fantastic series out there that could have been in the series long ago had Nintendo been the one to own them. Series like Castlevania and Dragon Quest probably could have been in as early as Smash 64 if they were first party. As the player though, what does it matter which companies name shows up at the start screen? The point I'm trying to make is that a lot of first party characters, especially ones added later down the line, are added primarily because they are the most profitable for Nintendo. They don't cost anything to license, negotiations aren't needed, and they reap all the benefits from advertising these characters. But I am not Nintendo, so I as an individual shouldn't care what's most profitable. What I care about is playing as characters from games that I like. I don't mind the first party characters, but I don't really care about them either, because all the good stuff is in the untouched treasure troves of other companies.
t. seething chesnaughtfag
>Won the largest official pokemon popularity poll
yeah because the poll was retarded
You didn't have to vote for every region
Because more often than not there are at least a dozen better/more interesting options you could have picked in place of them. Which makes Min min stand out all the more because she is exactly that. Something unique could have been picked for a gen 7 Pokemon instead of just another fucking starter like Buzzwole, Golisopod, Tsareena, Type Null/Silvaly, Kommo-o, Mimikyu, etc. Same goes especially for Byleth's case.
Nintendo's down to C-listers at this point, Super Videogame Bros. is the way to go now.
I dont hate them but now that the door has been opened in regards to who can make it in I much rather aim for the stars and get Doomguy or Dark Souls content instead of anime swordsmen #18 or another fucking Pokemon. Nintendo representation is perfect as it is. Everyone who really matters is there. Everyone else is bottom of the barrel stuff and you cannot disagree.
I sort of disagree, but then I think certain retro characters and some smaller-time new series deserve a spot.
>Excitebike
>Balloon Fight
>Rhythm Heaven
>Box-Boy!
And besides that, I don't mind adding characters from already-repped series that are regular mainstays of those series. They can add new elements and flavours that a few bigger-hit series can't.
I like first party picks.
I don't like first parties from the same shit we've exhausted all interest in.
Min Min was fine since ARMS didn't get a stage/fighter before. It helps that Min Min is a fun, interesting character, too.
Greninja/Incineroar are annoying since we've got a million and one things from Pokemon already, but pokemon are at least relatively varied in design and moveset, and they filled new, fun niches as characters.
Byleth was another fucking FE lord with absolutely no personality or charisma. His/Her design is the same shit we've seen with every other FEfag. The gameplay of the character doesn't do anything new or interesting, either. It's fucking boring.
the characters i actually like from nintendo don't get shilled. some of them haven't shown up in any capacity for over a decade at this point.
i'd rather get a third party shill because at least its a higher chance of a character worth a shit and a half.
>Tsareena
God I fucking wish. She's my favorite Pokemon.
