Just got to the tournament part.
This game is really comfy so far but I worry I will eventually get bored and drop the game. How long is the story and is it all good?

If you're enjoying the game don't worry about getting bored.
The game, for me at least, was like 110h+. Granted that’s with the (minor but still) additions the switch version had and me trying to do everything/get people up to lvl99. Anyways, if you’re only at Octogonia, trust me you won’t be bored for a good long while.
This game is incredibly bland, I have no idea why it is so popular in Japan, but I can see why it isn't anywhere else.
For how generic the games systems are I was expecting a really dull game. I thought the story, world/towns, characters, etc. were all engaging and cozy and it never really dropped off. I also don't mind weak turn-based combat
>weak turn-based combat
I didn't mind the combat actually, it's basic, but it's still okay. I had a problem with everything else. It just felt...shallow and generic. The "charm" of the characters weren't nearly enough to carry the game for me. From a long-ass text heavy RPG, I want interesting world building and interesting story. This game has none of it.
! REMINDER ! anybody who doesn't play with stronger monsters on is a faggot
If you do absolutely everything, it's a good 100+ hour game. Main story is around 60 hours.
Yeah I didn't give a shit about anything in this game and dropped it at the octopus boss on the boat. Its all so boring and uninteresting.
If you're playing on PC, use Cheat Engine to speedhack around 200%. Really makes the game much more enjoyable.
I completed most of the content except the bonus superboss and a couple of side quests around the 110 hour mark.
Or just wait for definitive edition to come out on PC.
I bought the PS4 version ages ago but never played it. Is it even worth playing that version over the switch version? I do want the trophies and I already have it. Shame we never got the 3DS version the two screen thing was cool
They giving a discount to people that own the existing PC version? Because I ain't gonna double dip for full price, and SE can eat my dick if they think I will.
It gets better. Like any good ol' jrpg
You got filtered right where you were meant to.
If you have an Xbox, it’s coming to gamepass on release.
Switch version has more content, lots of QoL changes, and the ability to fast forward battles/skip cutscenes. It also has 2D mode, if you're into that kind of thing.
it's the updated version from switch? I kind of hate playing JRPGs on xbox, it feels so wrong. I would get the switch version but I already have the PS4 version and I kind of want to try for the platinum
i'd consider rebuying it if they gave me a discount for the definitive one.
Yeah it’s the updated version.
>Expecting Squeenix to not jew you
At least it'll get steep discounts after a year or so on Steam, unlike the Nintendo eShop.
Swing and a miss.
It’s 40% off on eshop for 1 more day.
Is it? I feel like a retard for buying it a couple weeks ago, then.
Yeah. I bought it on the previous discount run which was about 2 months ago.
Eh, I got 100+ hours of enjoyment out of it, so i don't mind paying full price.
Drop it in Act 3
yarr matey
That is exactly what happened to me. I got about half way through act 2 and it was just the same routine over and over and over. No secrets. No surprises. No cliffhangers. No thing at all interesting happening. Just gay homo and his merry band of faggots dancing around, big tittied bitch missing all of her useful attacks and unbelievably obnoxious loli cunt spewing her godawful quips every 5 seconds.
