>Recently CD Projekt Red was outed as one of the developers who were forcing mandatory crunch on their employees, and this hasn’t gone well with others.
>Cyberpunk 2077 has already been delayed two times, from April to September, and then to November.
>The game recently went gold which assured that it will meet the November 19 launch date, but the news about mandatory crunch led to some controversy regarding the developer who had stated in the past that they try to reduce the crunch during game development.
>Meanwhile, the truth is so trivial that crunch is a complicated phenomenon and not black and white.
>I can’t set a better example than the fact that I know people from CDPR who crunched, gone, and talk about the company that hedgehogs hair on their head, but also those who crunch longer, yet they are from work in it highly satisfied and not going to move from it.
>Łukasz Szczepankowski, Lead Technical Designer at CD Projekt Red, was one of the developers who responded to the post by Adrian Chmielarz by adding that he doesn’t consider “game development managers” as “proverbial capitalists.”
>I can only confirm what Adrian Chmielarz wrote.
>Even if it comes to the situations he describes, my experience shows that game developers have relative solidarity in this respect from top to bottom, regardless of the position taken.
CD Projekt Red Dev Defends Crunch, Suggests People Have An "Ideological Narrative" Against Them

>Game development managers are not the proverbial capitalists – exploiters who count money while smoking a cigar and from time to time glance at the oppressed developers (however picturesque this vision sounds).
>After the news of the crunch broke out, CD Projekt Red Studio Head Adam Badowski addressed the topic to say that his company will once again share 10% of its yearly profits with the development team.
>One user who was in conversation with Lukasz was skeptical of this claim to which he replied back saying that this is not a new thing but has been going on for a long time.
>He suggests that this news might be an attempt to put CDPR in a “bad” light.
>I wonder what makes funny in your statement. CDPR shares profits for a long time, on time, and with no excuses.
>Maybe it was laughter through tears
>Seriously, I have the impression that some people preferred us to be bad just to have a foundation for their ideological narrative.

They really are the good guys.
>>Seriously, I have the impression that some people preferred us to be bad just to have a foundation for their ideological narrative.
It's fun to see a retard go full cope.
Not realy news. Reddit tranies from r/games and such have been crying about CDPR amd their work enviroment since 2015
Lol they slave away for 10% profits? Even valve treats it's devs better
thats about what i expected, no ideas why commie retards are in such shambles
cdpr is the most consumer friendly dev on the market. people just love to hate and this is petty shit. they delayed the game already a lot to increase the quality, they can't push more, so they need to do overtime. i do overtime myself all the time, and it won't be anything as easy as the work at cdpr. i don't see any newspapers crying a river over me. it's dumb.
tl;dr
I never doubted CDPR. Schereir is just a jew rat looking for some clout because he knows CDPR is a hot topic.
Why do people think Crunch time is a bad thing? It's existed for decades and it will continue to do so.
If anything, this is the higher ups at CDPR telling them to hurry the fuck up and stop delaying it or they will be fired.
>Why do people think Crunch time is a bad thing?
Because it's mentally exhausting that can lead to degraded performance while doing your work, not to mention potential health issues.
yep, I dont care what mutts say about CDPR
Just get a new job if you hate it so much
They're the same as every big company. They're not the good guys or something.
You haven't followed outside world much, have you?
It's obviously a bad thing.
10% of its yearly profits you dumb fuck
The crunch thing isn't unusual in the gaming industry. I think why people are focusing on it in this case is that the game has been delayed a ton already, they had earlier said that they wouldn't need to crunch, which points to some issues with development.
user you do realise Crunch time is entirely expected right? Just because in recent years some whiny little bitches couldn't take it and complained about it, doesn't mean it will go away.
I feel quite hungry
No it's not. These people know what they are signing up for when they take the job.
They are right tho. Trannies are mad.
>user you do realise Crunch time is entirely expected right?
And why is that? Oh, right. Because everyone just takes it and doesn't want to talk about it.
Sure, but like Amazon we can comfortably say CDP as a whole is incredibly pro-consumer
Friendly reminder that none of us know what the fuck we're talking about when we debate these things between ourselves.
They also said that before corona was a thing. They've been remotely working since march iirc.
Yeah, it's the shitposters on this fucking site.
stfu commie
ahh buu fucking huuu, why don't you go and suckle on Jason Schreiers vagina from all that exhaustion
That's the best you can do, isn't it.
Sad.
crunch is natural for anything with a deadline and its what makes the best products
internet communists need not reply
Honestly, they probably wanted to delay again but CDPR is probably sick of them doing it so they probably gave them the choice, Crunch time = Keep your job or say no and get fired.
>gimme MY GAME NOW
>I DON'T CARE WHETHER YOU SUFFER WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A BETTER LIFE
>GIVE ME MY ENTERTAINMENT!!!!
>EVERYONE DOES IT HOW COULD IT BE WRONG!!!!
>CDPR calling out the discord trannies
oh no no no sistahs...
>People mad about crunch
>CDPR tries to cash in those social justice points they think they've been getting
This never goes well
Seriously? That's it?
It's expected in the industry you brain dead Californian. It will never change no matter how much you kick and scream. It's called meeting deadlines.
Crunch is natural for incompetent planning.
There is not a single contract out there on which crunch can be a legal clause. So no, they are not signing up for it you faggot
>>gimme MY GAME NOW
>>I DON'T CARE WHETHER YOU SUFFER WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE A BETTER LIFE
>>GIVE ME MY ENTERTAINMENT!!!!
this but unironically.
We talk about it all the time. Certain end level departments such as those in post-production are basically in perpetual crunch because of their position within a project's timeline. All throughout my time studying for this in uni we were tought to anticipate crunch. It's an extremely transparent inevitability to those working in these studio environments. You're a fucking moron.
