There is no such thing as a good 3D Soni-
I like the game but I hesitate to call it "good." It feels kinda janky, which is the norm of most 3D Sonic games I guess.
Unleashed is both good and bad. Day stages are top notch. Werehog stages themselves played fine but as a Sonic game it's pretty bad. It would've worked better as a separate game with Knuckles.
the more you guys talk about this game the more I think I might try it
afterall I like heroes and everyone shit on it
Heroes is the most underrated game of all time.
would love a heroes 2 with cool characters like fang, bark, wave, silver, blaze, eggrobo, emeryl
along with a hub world, chao garden, and sonic r & sonic the fighters gamemodes that use tag teams and such to differentiate them from the OG games
>That leg in the rear of the pic looks like a thick ass dong in the thumbnail.
It doesn't.
Seek help.
The last true Sonic game... And what a sendoff.
>What is Lost World
Is lost world that bad?
I'd say it's worth a shot, but if you do play it, dump all of your points into the werehog, otherwise his stages will feel completely dull, and get the dlc. It has some of the best stages for boost, and the werehog stages were actually pretty fun.
That looks cool. Do you have any other webms?
No, you don't.
It's not bad, but it's not very good either. Just a generic, mediocre platformer that tries too hard to be Mario Galaxy and DKC.
If you want to play a fast platformer with parkour elements play Cloudbuilt instead.
Pros
>Game came out in 2008 and it still looks great
>That kino intro and the ghost short, also the shorts with Chip
>Kino music
>Great day/night aesthetic
>It was the first true boost game, and boosting felt great
>Loved the idea of travelling around the world to visit irl places
>Every destination was kino
>Eggman actually succeeds right off the bat and builds Eggmanland, you have to clean up his mess
>Spagonia
>Egg Dragoon
Cons
>Game gets laggy often
>Werehog stages were streched out way too much and took forever to finish
>No one gave a shit about all the unlockable combos as a werehog, you were just button mashing
>Oh you like the night stage music? What's that there's an enemy every ten seconds you have to fight? DA DA DA DAAAAAAA
>Whatever Moon and Sun emblems were for
>Eggmanland
If the game came out on a next gen console and avoided the lag issues it would be much more enjoyable, make the werehog less of a chore and it would be perfect
>PS2/Wii versions
Clearly inferior but at least the Werehog was streamlined in those versions making it less annoying
The 3DS port was fun
For like, 4 levels. Just about everything else was Wispshit, gimmickshit, or trash 2D.
This
It had flaws but it's still the best 3D sonic since the dreamcast
That's 4 more fun levels than the Wii U port at least
I really wish all of lost world was built like this
c game
Was it actually that bad?
>What is Lost World
A mediocre Mario style rip off with arguably good gameplay mechanics and concepts but is ultimately ruined by not enough good stages and fucking 2D
I hope this game gets a PC release eventually. I always wanted to try it, but never got the chance.
I hope so too, the BC version in the Series X will likely be the first time the game has a stable framerate, at just 30FPS.
It took 2 generations to get stable sub-HD/30FPS, if we had a PC version it would have been 4K/60 for fucking ages.
>Press R2 to run, it's also the parkour button so have fun sticking to walls :)
>Did you get used to it? Don't worry have a ton of gimmick stages so you get to use 0 parkour
What were they thinking?
Here are my favorite stages from both version of lost world and it paints a good picture of my problems with the Wii U version, it never tries to do anything with it's mechanics and even at the end of the game just has you holding forward. That and the 3DS version has a lot of gimmicks thrown in but they're always pushing you forward and keep the pace of the game, the Wii U one still feels the need to have pointless cloud sections where all you do is wait. The best parts of Sonic Lost World WiiU are only found in parts of some stages so whatever fun you're having is gone in 15 seconds whereas the 3DS version has good stages that last too long. Also sonic is faster on 3DS which is neat.

I'm hoping that when the game eventually does come to PC, it will be at a time with 4K/144fps is more common so they'd be more likely to have native support in the game. Sega haven't really kept their Sonic games updated on Steam as far as I'm aware and not all the Sonic games have good PC options and settings. They have been getting better but the games already ported ages ago lack those qol things, can't even alt tab out on Sonic CD for instance.
It already runs pretty well on Xenia, it just randomly crashes.

Soon
maybe I was a little retarded when I was younger but I always failed those chaos emerald stages
It feels like complete shit to play
Depending on the version you played the special stages were bugged, in fact, I think it was bugged on all versions pretty much (just in different ways)
Are we not going to mention the soundtrack? It's arguably the best in the series.

Yeah, but it's been crashing since last year, I don't think it's going to get fixed soon.
More likely either RPCS3 get better performance or we get better CPUs, because that seems to completable at the moment but you need a Intel i9 spaceheater CPU to get close to 60.
I want it to get done, because there's even a mod for it that disable the fucking battle theme.
This.
the 3DS version of Lost World is the biggest example of a wasted opportunity I've seen. they had finally made a good 3D sonic engine on a handheld that actually had good gameplay and then wasted it on the game's shitty level design, over reliance of wisps and shitty pacing. I'm still pissed about this
>introduced 2D sections into 3D games
It’s not 3D
>Yeah, but it's been crashing since last year, I don't think it's going to get fixed soon.
I wouldn't be so quick to count it out yet. Emulator development is weird. Sometimes fixing something for one game fixes a dozen other games as well.
One day it'll be perfect.

so fucking comfy
