This is the point in which the difficulty of Mario games started to take a dive imo.

This game, and every Mario game after have been braindead easy. To be fair this game does have a few levels that prove to be challenging, but you have 30+ lives before you get to them so it doesn't matter.

i get the sense 64 was afluke, it is so unnintiendo?

Who cares it's fun.

Lives are a stupid concept from the arcade cabinet days to get more money. games are better when you dont have to restart the whole level after a few deaths, it keeps the pace going and the frustration low. I still like a challenge just not having to repeat shit to much without reason.

Am I the only one who had problem 100%ing this game nowadays? I had no problems when I first played it 8 years ago, the camera gave me fucking nightmares

im a zoomer who's first 3d mario was 3d land. i played 3d land, galaxy, and odyssey and they were all so easy that when i played 64 i thought it was gonna be a cakewalk. then I found out that it actually has some challenging parts and actually makes you combine harder moves? holy shit, having even just a bit of challenge makes the game much more fun and rewarding. I don't understand why they have to baby players, mario 64 was most people's first 3d platformer ever and it was still so much harder than odyssey. can't wait to play sunshine next.

Sunshine is quite hard because the controls suck, the physics are wonky and level design relies too much on wide gaps and tall heights.

Damn, this must be how I sound when I bitch about Mario 64.

I thought sunshine had fantastic physics and the camera was fine.

gay

Got sunshine to 116 stars. Ragequitted at lily pad level and started galaxy.
It's indeed very easy most part in comparison to sunshine

well I'm coming off of 64 so I'm sure it'll be a step up

>Ragequitted

loser

This level was easier in the original release because you could control the force in which you shot water out of fludd (thanks to analog LR buttons).

The switch only allows you to fire at max force, which is fine for 99.9% of the game.

>and every Mario game after have been braindead easy
Galaxy 2 is the most difficult 3D Mario, though. Did you even play it?

Galaxy 2?

Bros, why does Odyssey feel so bland? I'd rather replay 3D World again.

Yes, that is what I typed.

You're making up games just to win an internet argument?

the camera never has given me problems, it might help to remember why it is the way it is, it is digital and relies on presets with buttons

Because many moons are just there, no platforming challenge needed to collect them. Its pretty much a sandbox, its only fun if you like experimenting with your movement to collect them in unorthadox ways

The only hard levels in Galaxy and Galaxy 2 were the purple coins and the one hit and you're dead challenges.

You just suck

But Galaxy 2 was the hardest 3d mario

Welp

How?

It's not fun if the game plays itself

Mario started being braindead with Super Mario World

Galaxy 2 is hardest.

it's fun. that's all that matters

Some levels on 3D world are hard too.

>brainlet only thinks of launch star sections because his brain is mush

You rack up lives in no time even in the nes Mario games, what's your fucking point? I'm guessing you never played the old ones
