I have no idea. I finally got around to getting it in a recent sale and stopped playing about half way through because it was just too boring.
consoomerism has hit record highs and the name alone sells, not hard to see.
It was good and also had a different, and more approachable structure for people
Because despite all the scepticism of the old RE playerbase, it's actually a good game
gaming is now the biggest market in the world.
But I still find it shocking RE7 is a bigger hit then 5 now. which I always thought was unmoveable
i honestly don't get it either
i played through it and it had little to nothing memorable besides ethan getting his hand chopped off
besides RE2 Remake I have not played a new game in the last three years with as much soul as RE7.
look at all that gray n' brown
RE7 is packed with memorable moments.
>chainsaw Mia
>The garage fight
>The chainsaw fight
>Spider mom.
>The birthday tape
>The monster Jack fight
>The fist fighting grandpa.
>look at all that gray n' brown
Don't play Silent hill then. or any other horror game really because what horror games are multicoloured gay rainbow fests.
Steam sales and memes. It's a really good game, but I can't fathom how else it beat RE5.
Granted how the fuck did RE5 do so well anyways?
I can't understand how it's sold better then RE4
It's not a bad game but it's not really a good RE game.
Co-op sells stupid numbers if done reasonably well.
Ethanchads. where you at?
it just shocks me RE4 isn't even high on the list of Capcom best sellers.
That GameCube exclusivity was a hell of a drug. Even after all the ports, it couldn't reach the momentum it could have had as a PS2 game from day 1.
I only played it on PS2. I honestly thought for the longest time it was PS2 exclusive when I was younger.
>noo you can't just have colors in a horror game
you can have visual diversity in a horror game. see the evil within.
RE7 is 10 hours of slowly jogging in samey corridors, although some of it does look good.
>see the evil within.
WTF? I love that game. but that fucking game is mostly just grey and red what are you on about?
I remember most locations in RE7. can't say the same for TEW
Also TEW2 is a far better game then the first.
I bought this game at launch but only finished it a couple of days ago since I want to play RE8.
I thought I'd hate FP but it's okay.
Is the DLC worth playing?
Based. Im glad that pieces of shit of 4 and 5 were dethroned. Tho 7 could still be improved. I didnt like the last stretch, too much action. And I think the house could have been bigger and the puzzles could have been actual puzzles.
>see the evil within.
Retard
>Is the DLC worth playing?
Yes, both
Also Bedroom, Blackjack and Ethan must die
Horde mode is also fun
evil within has great environmental diversity.
get better taste.
If you like a more action approach I would say play Not a hero. it's free after all
And End of Zoe is a must if you want to play something so over the top it becomes awesome.
>the puzzles could have been actual puzzles.
The puzzles are the best in the series
>capcom.co.jp
>but but SFV was a failure...
>Top 10 selling sf, barely below sf2
>doesnt account for insane dlc sales
>they are so based you can have the dlc characters for free just playing the game
>still being played 5 years after release unlike most fgs that die 1 year later (with the exclusion of dbfz)
Yeah, I think this is based. I doubt Ono was even sacked from it. He probably got enough of SF.
Asshole we are talking about colours aren't we?
I don't care how many environments TEW had doesn't change the fact that all of them are mostly grey and red.
The evil within is dogshit and the only good thing to come out of it were the dlcs and the sequel
The enviroments are spooky asylum, RE4 village, more asylum, more village into more asylum, shitty bland city, all of it is grey or black or brown
I prefered the ones from re3. Lets not even talk about other series like SH.
They sold it to the normies, who hate VIDEO GAMES, but love VR cinematics and walking sims.
>The puzzles are the best in the series
Nigger, you are absolutely retarded. 7 legit has no puzzles.
>Water treatment facility puzzle
>Clocktower
>good
>Tho 7 could still be improved
RE8 is soon brother.
>More enemy types all based on classic monsters.
>A large village to explore
>Ethan is going to be given more personality.
Kino is coming bros.
Because it's the best game in the series by far.
it's pretty clear that RE7 cashed in on the Silent Hills hype. Not saying it's a bad game, it's one of my favorite in the series, but this is clearly just a case of Konami dropping the ball and Capcom running away with it.
>I have no idea.
Exactly what I thought as soon as I read op
I mean this and monster hunter are good, but they came out as their best selling games almost out of nowhere
>REmake 2 7.2 million units
Give it another 6 months and it's going to surpass 7
Wow it only took 2 of you to beat me.
Don't worry though. My next game AKA the next mainline game will be here shortly to break even more records. Tick tock Leonfags.
because people wanted Silent Hills and Capcom capitalized on Konami's botch
Those are my favorites wtf? Use your fucking brain lmao, just visualize the pieces falling, its like tetris, how hard is that? You probably have terrible spatial iq.
Dont ever try one of these
psychologytoday.com
What walking sims have
>monsters to kill
>Puzzles
>Inventory management
>bosses
>at least 12 weapons to use
>a large map
>multiple endings
Name me 5 walking sims that do this.
What the fuck are you talking about, schizo? I'm not taking any sides and am literally just analyzing the numbers.
That faggot has never played RE7 and is making assumptions.
I wanna play it but it's got no ultrawide support on PC so I thought I'd do it in VR but it doesn't support that either even though it says it does on steam so I'll never get to try it
It's not going to surpass RE7, RE8 release will boost it up
Based Ethanchad dabbing on Leonfags
Leon wont even get Clair or Ada in the upcoming series and will remain a virgin.
I honestly have no clue why Capcom wont give the PC version VR support.
Is do to some kind of deal with Sony or something? why are they leaving PC bros in the dark?
Best horror game in years and one of the best RE games. It was great, hopefully Village will live up to the expectations.
This list is a bit confusing. If you click the "All" tab you can see all ports of Resident Evil 4. If you combine them all, it totals 10.2 million. The only other game to break the 10 million mark besides Monster Hunter World.
Resident Evil 4 is still the best selling Resident Evil by several million units.
Hey as long as Survival horror is now on top of the food chain again in Resident Evil. I'm happy if 7 or RE2 Remake are king.
>10 Feb 2016 Street Fighter V PS4/PC/DL 4.7
jesus
About to start a madhouse run for the first time
>the only good thing to come out of it were the dlcs and the sequel
shit taste faggot, they were inferior westernized trash
HAHAHA
The Evil Within 1 is the most western fucking game I've ever seen. it feels like a horror game made by committee
At least The Evil Within 2 had some fucking soul in it.
literally thousands if not millions more people are playing modern video games now than they were even one console gen ago, let alone the ps1/ps2 era where most of the world was still playing bootleg NES or genesis games
you can't compare numbers in a vaccum anymore, you need to adjust for "inflation"
good luck user. the hard mode does not fuck around. but it's a run ride.
that's still one more color than RE7.
the point is, you can be a horror game and have a fucking art style. don't even compare the visual presentation of RE7 to silent hill games.
