it's a lot worse than EU that's for sure, but I wouldn't call it a bad game in comparison to true shitshows.

the story isn't as fun imo, and the armor is absolutely horrendous, among other things.

Xcom 2 without wotc is slightly inferior to xcom eu with all DLC, but with Wotc it's just objectively better in almost every way, Wotc is an amazing dlc/expansion.

Xcom 2 is amazing. Don't listen to nostalgiamosters. Lwotc makes it feel like it's own brand of xcom, but it's bullshit hard.

It's Firaxis trying to do the "put out half-a-game and fix it with DLC" thing, but that doesn't work for XCOM as well as Civ.
Just pay up for the DLC and the game is good.

Also it was completely broken at launch, so early bad reviews did a lot of damage to its perception.

The chosen are ass, their fights are stupid, xcom should not be about boss alien fights. Plus the gear they drop turns your ragtag apocalypse squad into some super sentai power ranger shit. Still fun though but EW is way better
