How did this game predict the future so well?

how did this game predict the future so well?

Two reasons: Number 1

Everything that guy said came true.

it didn't

It didn't. The stuff everyone thinks about was based on social issues that already existed, and sci-fi concepts already done by other works. Not to downplay how good it is - if anything, dropping redpills on issues that were already relevant at the time makes it even more based.

It didn't predict anything, everythiing the game talks about was already happening at the time, and are still happening right now

>The stuff everyone thinks about was based on social issues that already existed, and sci-fi concepts already done by other works
A lot of people really do overuse the terms "predicted" and "ahead of its time".

>predicted corona virus
>predicted 9/11
>predicted that companies will have more power than the government
>predicted that A.I one day will surpass humanity
>predicted the direction corporations were going in

That's terror
Number 2:

That's terror.

seeing obvious trends arent predictions

viruses mutate all of the time, once in a while they become a new super virus
twin towers were already bombed once in 1994
governments have been in the pockets of companies ever since money was invented

true ai doesn't even exist yet

>predicted corona virus
Not really, the chink flu affects everyone. In Deus Ex vaccines were given to the rich and influential while the poor suffered.
>predicted 9/11
Kind of
>predicted that companies will have more power than the government
This was already happening in the 90’s. Hell it was happening in the 1800’s.
>predicted that A.I one day will surpass humanity
That’s one of the most generic sci-fi tropes ever
>predicted the direction corporations were going in
Like I said that was already going on with big railroad companies in the 1800’s.

Because they didn't try to predict anything, they just tried to create a world were everything was really shitty. Then us humans just happened to make our world really shitty.

because the devs literally just looked through all the different conspiracy theories of its time and wrote it based off that

this is why the the sequels are more tame

Because it just took trends and phenomena that were already happening or emerging at the time, then logically extrapolated from there. It's based on asking 'how might this thing look 50 years from now' and trying to logically work it out as much as possible

Most Sci Fi doesn't do this and is just writer pulling an idea they think is cool out of their arse, without it really being connected to anything in the real world

>predicted 9/11
9/11 happening was just a matter of time, people memed about it all the time in the 90s.
The towers not appearing in the game was just some issue with the skybox and the devs just thought it would be easier to explain their absence instead of fixing the issue.

made by illuminati tier jews and sheldon pacotti who was well versed in conspiracy lore.

>The towers not appearing in the game was just some issue with the skybox
imagine actually believing this excuse

Is Alex Jones crazy? Or is he a red pill dispenser?

you mean like how people with cancer dont get proper treatment because they're too busy treating Trump with a chink flu ?

That's terror.
Number 2: that's terror.

Old men.

Yeah I agree, it's mostly confirmation bias, or the equivalent for history ("after the fact" bias?). Still, that game had some pretty good "predictions".

Because the future was planned

Rather than an "issue", it was a trick to save memory by mirroring half of the city. A notable landmark like that would've stood out so they just removed it.

can i play the goty version completely vanilla without trouble? which renderer do i use?

Two words: New York City

>seeing obvious trends arent predictions
making a conclusion about the future based off a current trend is literally a prediction bro

Healthcare is a private enterprise in America, no? Isn't that just the system working as intended?

>speak to the nsf leader at the top of statue
>prompt him and he has like 10 more lines to spout
>shoot the guard because i feel like he's hearing too much
>in the briefing, maderlay asks me about the guard who went missing with a suspicious as fuck tone
they'll never make a game this good again desu

Deus Ex isn't exactly an original work with its world. It directly pulls it's future from popular conspiracy theories. Terrorism legislation to stomp civil liberty, ECHELON and surveillance state, multinational corporations eroding statehood, puppet democracy, this stuff all was discussed before Deus Ex. 9/11 and Snowden just outright confirmed a bunch of it as fact.

it's too bad the game is mostly front loaded with that stuff

Deus Ex is probably one of the best games I've ever played. It's not even nostalgia goggles, I played it back in 2016 and I had a blast playing through it again.
