Entry point of $1000, games are shit, or loli sex simulator, just not worth it.
Well duh it takes like 8 monts for an index to ship.
I'm getting an Oculus Quest 2 when they come out. What's some good games besides Squadrons, and Alyx to pick up?
dont have to spend 1000 unless you want the absolute newest one
mine was like 300
also which loli sex simulator are you referring to?
Hopes for VR back then
>there is going to be so much porn
Reality of VR now
>no porn
yeah VR needs to go back to the drawing board for another 10 years and maybe it'll stick next try
Hey, I’m enjoying VAM.
>imagine paying 1000 usd to tape a monitor to your face
Imagine never having touched VR, and still feeling like your opinion matters.
>also which loli sex simulator are you referring to?
The game that mexican was making, i shoulda called it groomer simulator for accuracy
vam is the best porn game but the vr aspect isn't all that interesting, it's mostly just way more comfortable to pose using it
For the Oculus 2? Or for the pc with link?
I've enjoyed Beat Saber a lot, myself. Pistol whip is also fun, though you might get less out of it, and has a dlc on the way as well.
Space Pirate trainer looks fun.
Superhot vr, boneworks, lone echo, walking dead saints and sinners, budget cuts, stride and jet island also all look good.
Only some of those will be native to the quest so you'd need to use it as a pcvr headset to play everything you might want.
1000$ + 350$ for vive pucks
>For the Oculus 2? Or for the pc with link?
90% of time it'll be on PC. I can't see myself using standalone too much, except maybe for porn.
(You) yesterday:
>LOL LOOK AT MY SHITTY THREAD ABOUT VR
>huh... nobody is replyin... better try again tomorrow
>There are no games!
There have been games for years
>List them!
[does so]
>Those are tech demos!
They have the same depth and playtime then most desktop games.
>No, they are tech demos!
Might as well hijack the thread to talk about VR stuff anyways, OP can get left in the dust.
3 days in a row
the same fucking thread
you might as well go to /vg/ and set up an "anti-vr" general, theres almost nothing new said in these threads
theres no reason in presenting a point like this if you won't even entertain the alternative so you might as well just go full circlejerk now
I only play it for Thrill Of The Fight. I wish there was more simulator stuff. I'm too lazy to setup my racing wheel for assetto corsa
thats racist
>They have the same depth and playtime then most desktop games.
>vrcucks actually believe this
sneed
>poster count doesn't move when these pop up
is it really just one fucking person making these threads
End of the day, VR is good. Yes, it needs better, affordable tech and yes, it needs more games that use it properly but it's still good.
VR is definitely still cool but the tech just isn't anywhere close to where it needs to be
Why do you keep making the same thread?
The shinobu one?
True though. There have been full games out since it started. Oculus made a lot.
I've got a CV1 in storage because setting up the cameras is a giant pain
do you think a Reverb G2 is worth an upgrade or should I wait another generation?
VR won't have a chance at general market saturation until an acceptable all in one solution is sufficiently developed. The Quest is a step in the right direction but still has mobile-tier graphics and other less than desirable features. I don't think it's impossible but it will take another generation or two (and not release in the middle of a pandemic with economic insecurity). Maybe something along the lines of the Switch where it has portability and the ability to switch between a handheld built in screen and full blown VR would appeal to normies big time.
I don’t give a fuck what wikipedia articles you link, nothing outs a person who has never touched VR more than the “Muh monitor on face” argument.
The quest 2 literally has the capability you mentioned to hook up and be full blown vr (you can also connect to your pc over wifi with virtual desktop), even if it's standalone runs off of a mobile chip.
I'm pretty sure Zig Forums has been shitting on VR since it's (second) inception, newfag.
>dont have to spend 1000 unless you want the absolute newest one
And what's the point of intentionally gimping yourself with a less-impressive experience in something that's purely based on having an impressive novel experience?
>why buy a PC? they're too expensive
>why buy a 500 dollar PC when you could buy a 3000 dollar PC?
its still impressive and novel
A monitor for each eye, with lenses that wrap the image to fit your fov, set to your IPD for 1:1 scale 3D and positional tracking so looking around the game is as natural as in real life (wearing goggles).
Over-simplifying things to devalue them is a poor argument.
You keep making this thread OP. Are you that butthurt about not having VR?
The Quest 2 is launching soon and I wouldn't say it is definitively 100% better than the Index in any way, but even that has higher screen resolution for 300$ than the valve index does at 1000$, even if you get a low end standalone vr system it is still impressive and novel, and things like the g2 for 600$ are only a step up from than that.
Do you not buy a car because you need to have a ferrari? Would it not be novel enough for you to get where you need to go in a timely matter, should you walk instead?
