boredom

HRT

This. Game is only fun during your weekly raids. Everything else is a snooze fest gated behind a long slog of story quests.

Retards trying to tell you the game is bad because they got filtered.

A fun time. Start in Gridania it's the most based starter zone. I wouldn't listen to Zig Forums's opinion about this game.

Fun as long as you don't play a healer.

fpbp
got bored out of my mind not even 30 levels into this game
maybe MMORPG's just aren't for me

Enraging if you don't play a healer, because having incompetent healers will fuck you.
You just can't win.

>wanting to live with forest sissies
Ul'Dah or Limsa is where it's at.

A half decent jrpg ruined by a insufferable playerbase and cancerous following.

not planning on it. i just need an mmo fix, i ususally play melee or tank

>user thought he would get him banned
>20 day suspension only
>"severely"
KEK

>break the ToS
>get banned
WOOOW HOW COULD I

It's even funnier because he got unbanned after ten days or so, and still plays to this day

>raidfag
Aether
>economy jew/casualfag/RPer
Crystal
>normalfag/spic
Primal

Thank me later

please never, EVER listen to this kind of advice

This is correct though

pretty much this

what's even funnier is he's a prolific pedophile who sends people he "trusts" (see: talks to for more than a week) actual real life child porn

Some baller red mage outfits.

So report it to actual authorities instead crying to the XIV jannies.

It's a story based game, a JRPG first and an MMO second. Don't skip cutscenes because the story is pretty solid overall, and you have to do the story to unlock literally anything, no exceptions.
Roll on a Preferred World. If you're NA I know there are several on Crystal, not sure about the EU situation. Lots of bonuses for doing so but the most important one is a MASSIVE exp bonus. It'll feel a little goofy when you're outleveling all the main quests but it'll make your life so much easier.
Racial stats are entirely cosmetic. Play what looks coolest to you.
The game is extremely well balanced and you can switch classes/jobs any time when you're in the field. Play what sounds like the most fun to you. There is no way to fuck up your character.
When you hit 50 you'll unlock some shit labeled Extreme. Don't queue for these in the Duty Finder, it will suck ass and probably fail if it actually ever pops. Ask higher leveled players how to do them.
Barring a few exceptions the gear with the higher Item Level is always better.
You don't need to use Materia until you're at level cap.
Crafting and Gathering are fun but the cost of entry is significant enough that you shouldn't go ham on them immediately, Crafting much moreso. Gathering is alright but don't blow all your Gil on gear.

+Amazing music
+Amazing world design
+Good class system
+Good combat for an MMO
+Lalafells are cute

-Pretty much every other race besides Lalafells just looks like some variety of human.
-Yoshi-da literally said it's a clone of WoW, so it shares all it's flaws. Most of which I will list below.
-Story is bad, even for an FF game. Made even worse by MMO progression.
-Side quests are more fun than the main story quests, but you're blocked from doing them until you finish the main story quests.
-Good gameplay system is kept down by MMO quests/raid systems, content based progression and MMO leveling/trinity system.
-No character variety.
-"It gets good after the third expansion, I swear!"
-95% of the game is played solo. And what little multiplayer options you have, it's just shitty dungeons/raids.
-PvP is a joke.
-Building houses is a joke.
-End game content is just grinding for weapons/gear that becomes obsolete with the next update. And you don't even need high end gear. In other words, all your work is pointless.
-Can't just level enemies on the overworld and the FATE system is worthless, so you have to grind dungeons once you exhaust the story quests. But you will get enough story quests to level about 2 classes to max so make sure to switch to another job once you've hit the level cap on one job. I suggest playing one healer and one DPS on the same character for variety (I had the most fun with WHM and DRG).

Lots of other flaws I can't remember off the top of my head.

we did
they don't care because cops are pigs and controlled by pedophiles themselves

> the FATE system is worthless
Definitely not in ShB, I've been leveling SMN off of Shared FATE grinding for the past few days and making a fuckton of cash in the process.

based lalabro

>filtered by ARR

Why do japanese call it jobs?

One hell of a learning curve if you've never played a mmo before.
I didn't even know the most basic mmo terms.
Pic related was useful when i started as a tank.

I meant for leveling it's worthless. Don't know about making money since I never needed it outside of grinding crafting.

passive-aggressive weeb autists posing as a "friendly community"

Pay attention to ARR story because is set up for every expansion

It's just in reference to earlier FF's calling them Jobs.

Final Fantasy calls it jobs. As far back as the first FF game. And they do it to set themselves apart from Dragon Quest/Wizardry. It's still the same thing. Final Fantasy just tries to be different in everything, even when it's clearly a copy.

so does the english community?

Ever since FFIII all "upper level classes" in FF have been called Jobs.

A lot of this is ancient

Lmao the story is great. Stop skipping dialogue

Any game will seem challenging to you if you play it with one hand.
