I'm looking for a game recommendation.
I have a very busy schedule, so I just want a game that I can quickly boot up on my computer and put about 30 minutes in while feeling cozy.
Pic related comes to mind, but only in spirit. I need something less preachy and more fantastical.
in short:
-good story that is broken into notable chapters
-simple game play that doesn't hinder story progress
-interesting characters with good development
-can be broken into 30 minute nightly sessions
-feeling of journey with changing scenery is a plus
Cozy game recommendation

>Someone made porn of this.
that's my point. Night in the Woods sucked.
But I'm saying that the casualness of the gameplay is comparable to what I'm searching for.
>good story
>simple game play that doesn't hinder story progress
>can be broken into 30 minute nightly sessions
>feeling of journey with changing scenery
I say Outer Wilds.
Seems interesting. I like the space exploration aspect. Open world may hold too much temptation for me to continue playing past that 30 minute mark. I was thinking something more streamlined.
However, this definitely seems interesting. I'll check it out.
>pick it up because of the shammy video
>not enough of a failure to relate to it, become ashamed of the main character
>Open world may hold too much temptation for me to continue playing past that 30 minute mark
Don't worry about that. This game be easily played in 22 minute intervals.
Oxenfree
Firewatch
Edith Finch
i enjoyed NITW for what it was.
Night in the Woods loses any sort of comfy points when you learn that two of the devs bullied the third dev (who did all of the programming and most of the plot) into suicide.
separate the art from the artist, bro.
So stop bringing it up moron. Why would you be a jerk and try to ruin it for OP
The one who got cancelled also made the (kino) music
the NieR games are great although play sessions may last closer to more like 45 mins to an hour
Oxenfree didn't seem interesting.
Firewatch I am definitely going to get.
Edith Finch I'll consider. Is it possible to break that one into 30 minute segments? It seems like the kind of game you play all the way through in a 6 hour bing.
I did not know that, but that figures. The SJW types are always the ones who do fucked up shit like that.
I just couldn't get into the game because of
unfortunately based on that time investment I will have to pass.
It's worth to note since apparently the game is owned by tencent and the game devs are literally scummy fags.
So just pirate the game and not give them a dime.
too late user, bought it like 3 years ago
good thing I bought the game before he killed himself
>Cosy
>full of leftist propoganda
>wanting to reconnect with your friends and family is leftist
wew
Persona 4 is easily the coziest game ever made.
>Sleepy country town
>amazing, infectious music
>quiet rainy days
>"Welcome home, big bro!"
If your friends and family keep talking about "the man" and how "capitalism sucks" and start yelling at people for "Being fascists", you need to tell them to grow the fuck up and leave.
People have been saying those things since the 1970s.
Stop being such a nazi square.
yeah, sorry dude. most of us don't really find any excitement in roleplaying as a depressed failure.
>most of us don't really find any excitement in roleplaying as a depressed failure.
yet you support trump
>failure
I'm not the one who wants to change the rules because I can't win, commie.
If you have Gamepass Oxenfree is free on PC and Xbox, based on your preferences I'd at least check it out, and Afterparty from the same devs if you can get into the first game.
Kentucky Route Zero might be up your alley. I would highly recommend Pyre which checks all your boxes except the celestial basketball sports gameplay gets a bit advanced later on but there's not much micro management. Progressing is also not contingent on winning in Pyre, you could fail every single encounter and never see a game over screen.
His music was unironically pretty amazing, title always hits me right

Unless you are making $500,000+ you are also a slave class with increasing cost of living, lowering salaries and unattainable housing. You are not a temporarily embarrassed millionaire just because you are white lmao.
>I will ruin my own society because I'm so easily upset by people with different politics
Hopefully you kill yourself as soon as possible.
>sitting in an air conditioned house
>utilizing a computer that can access whatever I want
>easily make rent and utilities, pay for insurances, afford a gym membership, eat out, and get groceries every month making about 2,000 a month.
yeah dude. I'm part of a "slave class". okay.
sorry that you have to have a job to provide for yourself. Try moving out of california.
>not voting to give people who got pointless degrees free shit with my own paycheck is ruining my own society
have you tried taking ownership of your decisions?
>if your friends and family care about things that matters and want a better society for their children, they need to grow the fuck up
You're pathetic.
I like the gator girl
>Importing and breeding people who lead to more violence and worsen society means they care.
Kentucky route zero seems sorta interesting but definitely pyre has caught my eye. Thank you for the recommendation!
I went into the game blind without knowing much about the developers or their political leanings. There's a bit of preaching here and there but it's not necessarily out of character and wasn't distracting to me. Intentional or not a lot of the political comments and inclinations, especially from the younger characters come off as very shallow and surface level which is par for the course for a lot of people, especially youth in America to latch onto and promote ideology they don't understand. It's a lot of buzzwords, but no real dialectics. Mae's comments on the officer needing a gun for blocking a road for instance is a very surface level "I think I'm smart and clever" moment. It's representation of the church and religion in general is slightly more nuanced for what it's worth. The other themes are much more interesting such as the state of the Rust Belt between ongoing deindustrialization, lack of opportunities, non-existent and often counterproductive social programs, and the general feeling of hopelessness that pervades the region after decades of broken promises by politicians of all colors. What I'm trying to get across is the game's themes and story has redeeming values and quality to it even with all the above considered. As for the MC herself your control over Mae is really an illusion that breaks the second she opens her stupid mouth, really you're roleplaying this socially-inept dissociative college dropout. You can choose where to direct her and who you hang out with but you can't stop her from getting wasted or saying incredibly stupid things. It really does feel like a "Mae can't stop fucking things up for herself and others" simulator, but as bad as she in this respect is I still empathize with the character. The arguments with her mom in particular and the dark direction they head struck me pretty hard on a personal level, and not many games are able to accomplish that. youtube.com
Sure thing.
Maybe Oxenfree?
But I will warn you that is really short, and the gameplay isn't really that good.
I would say Ace Attorney or Hotel Dusk since despite being mystery "VN's" both have a really comfy atmosphere and fit other points of your criteria but they are also puzzle games so your progression will depend on how good are you with them, so 30 min sessions may feel short some times.
