Sony is finished.
Sony is finished
Microsoft buying Gamestop?
Gamestop will not last for multiple years
>wah wah people have been saying that for years
Check their stock price you low IQ retards
I thought GameStop went out of business.
>stock just went up 30% because of the news
Yea all they need is partnerships like this to happen every day and new consoles to drop yearly and they MIGHT have a chance
Explain what that means to me, a brainlet.
WTF Gamestop is saved?
> GameStop has expanded its Xbox family of product offerings to include Xbox All Access, which provides an Xbox console and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to players with no upfront cost.
Holy shit, Sony really is finished. For those who can't read between the lines, this means that Gamestop is going to push everyone into Microsoft's subsidized two year contracts for Xbox like phone carriers to for iPhones. Little Timmy will ask for a Playstation for Christmas, but his poor single mother will go to Gamestop and they'll tell her "actually, this Xbox has better specs, AND you can get it for no up-front cost on a 24 month loan". Guess which console little Timmy is getting for Christmas?
Microsoft is scared to death of Amazon.
Who the fuck goes to Gamestop in 2020? Use Amazon you subhumans.
>Explain what that means to me, a brainlet.
Someone high up in Gamestop maybe Reggie has a friend at Microsoft. They announced this "partnership" so they can up their stock price as much as possible since this is the last time they will be able to have stocks at a good price with Gamestop already getting a mini boost with new console preorders. They will cash out on their shares and tank Gamestop which won't exist a year from now.
Isn't gamestop on life support?
>GameStop is going to push everyone into Microsoft's subsidized two year contracts
Who goes into GameStop except crack heads looking for cash for stolen phones?
Yea this totally saved Radioshack when they did the same with cell phones
Outside of AWS vs Azure, how?
>inb4 the Amazon game streaming shit that lasted a week that was just investment b8
>MFW I went there to trade in my PS4 for a Switch last month
Those fags are still SUPER pushy though.
This isn't about saving Gamestop. Gamestop is still fucked in the long run. But they aren't the only ones running this deal. Other retailers will as well. And it works out GREAT for the phone manufacturers, which is what Microsoft is equivalent to in this analogy. This is what allowed Apple and Samsung to hike their phone prices up to ludicrous levels like $1000+ and still have poorfags buying them because they're all buying them on loan.
>Microsoft buying Reggie
>Someone high up in Gamestop maybe Reggie has a friend at Microsoft
It is possible if I remember correctly Phil Spencer was invited to Reggie's podcast once.
Microsoft is actually trying this time.
Amazon is giving game pass/xcloud true competition.
The moment they start adquiring the big studios, MS will be sweating. Also they might also strike a deal with Sony or Nintendo
OP is intentionally leaving out the article because the headline is misleading. Gamestop is entering a partnership with Microsoft to handle all of its internal data stuff with Microsoft software. This deal has nothing to do with Xbox.
So they decided to use MS access
For those of you that can't see beyond the immediate, the whole point of this is just to create the environment where you are required to come back to pay and with that we can shill more shit to you.
Gamestop is still suffering, our district is hemmoraging money and Covid has fucked any and all profits we've made in the last 3 years. That's why they've gotten rid of the Pro discount on preowned shit and why Pro is now $20 instead of $15 if you want the magazine still
Also why you get a crappy coupon that expires monthly, Gamestop LITERALLY needs people to come back in to spend shit.
Damn, should I buy now?
Honestly I want microsoft to succeed. They seem cool about having literally everything on sexbox be available for PC so switch2+PC is a no brainer this gen.
Does that mean that they will hide the PS5s in the storage room?
> This deal has nothing to do with Xbox.
See The deal also includes them shilling Microsoft's financing program for buying an XSeX on a $0 down 24 month loan.
>Amazon is giving game pass/xcloud true competition.
With what? Do you mean Luna? Game streaming won't be a viable product until the USA unfucks its network infrastructure, which isn't happening anytime soon.
I don't know which database management system they're going with, and genuinely don't give too much of a shit. But this news has almost nothing to do with video games.
>Through this partnership, GameStop will standardize the Company’s business operations on Microsoft’s cloud solutions and hardware products to deliver rich new digital experiences to customers, creating the “ultimate gaming destination” for gamers in its vision to be the premier omni-channel customer access point for video game products.
>The partnership includes enterprise and commercial elements.
That's from Gamestop's own press release:
news.gamestop.com
My local gamestop shills Playstation when I'm there.
Is Gamestop the DSP of retailers? I swear they file for bankruptcy every fucking year.
No those go in the plane hanger
Come back next week and see what happens.
>Hold on, we're bringing a forklift around for your new PS5. Why don't you go back your truck up to the loading dock in the meantime?
>that Zig Forums guy telling everyone to buy Gamestop for pennies on the dollar was right
why didn't I listen
>creating the “ultimate gaming destination”
But every console has a store thats 1000% more convenient than going out to gamestop and dealing with their bullshit. The only reason to ever use a retail store is if you want physical, but even then I just buy it on amazon.
You should have before they announced it, it's not going any higher now.
>Microsoft keep their trajectory of buying/partnering with irrelevant companies
Never change Microsoft
I try not to go there much desu anymore. I get physical games brand new for like $7-14.99 from amazon and best buy. I have my fiancee pick them up from bb on her way home from work. Gamestop can't compete.
What does this even mean? Is this just Gamespot hawking Microsoft's All Access plan instead of the their old one they used to have?
