What the fuck guys? I want more western action

Masculine high test genre, too problematic in 2020

the wild west is inherently masculine, which is ironically becoming criminal in the modern world
I'm glad RDR2 is not only a masterpiece but peak wild west ludo

>no Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
it's like you're not even trying, casul

Why can't a non-western studio do it then? An American company made Tsushima and Japs loved it, what if Japs pulled a vice versa and made a cowboy game?

Came out in 2013.

Wait really?

There's West of Loathing, but admittedly it is a spoof on the western genre

What about neo-westerns?

Nobody has nostalgia for westerns. Those that do are in their 70's and have never touched a video game.

Fuck you, westerns are great

Prime Clint was unmoggable

I can't keep up with zoomer lingo. What does unmoggable even mean

I'm 23 and watchd the Dollars Trilogy for the first time this year and absolutely loved them.

Yeah, they are great. Doesn't mean anyone now has nostalgia for them.

So besides the red dead series, gun, call of juarez and desperado, what other notable western games are there? I guess there's westerado but that's just pixel shit.
If you say new vegas you're a faggot.

Whoever said you needed nostalgia to make a western video game?

That's pretty much it I think.

Well, I wouldn't say you necessarily need it, but to make something good it helps to be passionate about it. And if you have nostalgia for something, it is more likely that you are passionate about it.

There are a bunch but since you used the term "pixel shit" chances are you don't want to hear about them.

Wild guns and sunset riders

Weird West comes out next year, from the ex-Arkane team, although it's not strictly western since it's the weird west universe

You can tell me about them instead user.

>non-western studio
Do they give a shit about westerns though?

If you like xcom then you should play hard west. Its got some neat mechanics that set it apart from xcom and a segment that plays a little like oregon trail. Also I think its getting a sequel but im not sure

the best western style shooter ist hunt showdown. quite tough to get into tho

Isn't that game pozzed?

>hunt showdown
They need to make this game singleplayer

Yeah they have westaboos just like we have weeaboos.
Fun fact: A lot of spaghetti westerns were inspired by classic samurai movies, such as those by Kurosawa, but Kurosawa himself was often inspired by western movies, such as those by John Ford. It goes 'round and 'round

The people who make games need to care about a subject to make a game about it. I doubt there are very many 20-40 year olds today who even watched a single western.
