I never did finish the original. The chainsaw dude scared the piss out of me, and the part where you have to run from him, pick up an item, and then use it on the door all while he was running and screaming at you was the moment I couldn't take it anymore.

Yes. And it's pretty open and honest a out it, unlike most horror games pretending to be good, but still jump on jumpscare train since creators are incapable of creating atmosphere and scary things.
