Who here has actually beat this shit?

Who here has actually beat this shit?
I played the all stars on NeS as a kid, at its quite frankly funny to see how drastically games have changed from innovative and challenging to literal movies, although challenging games are still made.
It pretty hard though

Okay boomer

Only the All Stars version, someday I want to beat the fds original.

Am I wrong though?
Games use to be designed to be challenging, developers had the hindsight you would be spending months to beat this shit
Now we have the tranny of us, rdr2, ect

Beat it as a kid, I liked most of the levels except for the one with wind and green springs, you never could tell where you were going to land

I had a GBC version of Super Mario Bros. 1 and this came with it. I beat The Lost Levels on the GBC version.

I got my 3DS back when they were gifting Super Mario Bros Deluxe through Club Nintendo so I played it like that.
Shit is even worse with Gameboy screen crunch.

Beat it as an adult, including the special worlds. The All-Stars version I played fortunately saves your progress after each level, don't know if I would have had the patience to restart at the beginning of each world. Definitely the hardest 2D Mario game imo

If you want games that require big brain strategy and on the fly thinking/reactions there are plenty to choose from. Don't whine that every game doesn't directly cater to you

Only beat nip mario 2 with savestates. Mario 1+2 physics and mechanics are broken as fuck. Also fuck mario in general.

>its quite frankly funny to see how drastically games have changed from innovative and challenging
It's literally a rerelease of the first game with a GFX hack and different levels sold for full price. If it were released today you faggots would call it soulless. It's so far from being innovative It's not funny.

>If you want games that require big brain strategy and on the fly thinking/reactions there are plenty to choose from. Don't whine that every game doesn't directly cater to yo
t. ranny

i didn't because it plays like shitty romhack

those are only a fraction of the games
there are great games in 2020 and you just dont bother searching for them

name them than faggit

This is the only version I've beaten. I remember not having fun with the Lost Levels all stars version as kid. I'm pretty good at Super Mario 35 so I should go back.

>I'm pretty good at Super Mario 35 so I should be good at actual difficult og nes platformers
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

checked and based

I beat it. It stopped being challenging and became tedious. The further you go, the more they start relying on blind jumps. Practically every castle becomes a maze. FDS pads itself out with the stupid "beat everything six times" shtick to get you to some underwhelming extra levels. World 9 is where they clearly stopped giving a shit.

tl;dr: Lost Levels stops being about genuinely challenging levels halfway through and just becomes a test of patience.

only in SMAS where you get to save after every level. There's a lot of unfun bullshit in that one, like invisible blocks placed over pits.

>Beat the GBC version
You guys are insane

Okay..

does this board know any other insult

I beat it once on Wii years ago. Was absolutely not worth the effort. Level design is horrendous. Play literally anything else.

I don't see how that's an achievement. I just had a lot of spare time as a kid.

>I played the all stars on NeS
No you didn't. All Stars isn't on the NES

I died to fucking bowser on world 8 and jsut couldn't do it.

The GBC version isn’t the same as the original. The wind effect is gone and Mario doesn’t jump up to the sky on the springs. Or over flagpoles if I remember. I don’t remember if it had the proper Luigi physics. It uses SMB1 graphics instead of the tiles from the FD SMB2. The SNES version also uses SMB1 tiles but from the SNES SMB1. It has similar issues to SMB1 and is slightly different with slightly different hit detection. Accessing worlds A-D is also easier.

All stars wasn’t released on NES you stupid cunt. Do you want your head kicking in? Dumb faggot kys.

>t. Boomer that can't into strategy games

Keep in mind this game was designed for the "pros" at the game who asked for a harder Mario game, and the team just took some levels from the arcade SMB VS and made em harder. People who knew the physics and shit on the palm of their hand had a field day with it, but I feel like they went too nuts on it.
Wind fucking up your momentum, some jumps that require you to have pinpoint precision, fucked up enemy placement, fake warp zones, blocks that were placed especifically (specifically?) to fuck your jump...

yes, you should go back
