Nier Automata: Ending E

So let me get this straight: humans have been dead for centuries/millennia and the Androids are fighting for nothing. The machines know this, and could easily win the war, but they don’t because they need something to fight in order to not lose their purpose.

But what’s all this about YorHa being designed to be killed and the whole “backdoor in the bunker” thing? Why isn’t 9S supposed to discover the truth? The humans are dead anyway so the Androids are literally fighting for nothing.

They explain it in Final Fantasy XIV. Go get it if you want the full Nier experience.

Muh philosophy. Omg this game make me cri.

I need to find Commander's backdoor ASAP.

YorHa was initially set up by proto-9S who had a murder fetish, the stage play goes into detail on it

I'm not shitting you, the stage plays hold vital lore info

>Why isn’t 9S supposed to discover the truth?
Cause machines are not suppose to have free will, just follow orders blindly, machines are not supposed to have feelings, etc.

>beat this game 3 times and call it shit
>NONONO NO YOU HAVE TO BEAT IT 7 TIMES TO GET THE FULL EXPERIENCE
fuck off, this is a coomer game with button mashing combat

The game didn't make any sense to me but I still liked it

Uhh...filtered. Kys OP, this game is a masterpiece.

i mean its like what the fifth game in series

For me the best ending is when I exploded the space station trying to look at 2B's butt

>the canon ending to nier is in an untranslated book
>the canon ending to automata is in an untranslated play
t-thanks yoko taro

YorHa was created to convince the Androids humans still existed on the moon since the Androids were started to catch on to the fact they no longer existed.
It served its purpose.

Yorha was created to convince coomers this game means anything. It served its purpose.

I really wish there was better access to all these extra bits of lore.

>mfw ffxiv will also hold vital bits of lore probably

I thought that both the androids and the machines are fighting each other to have a purpose now that humanity is dead, that they're both in ideological cahoots with each other and the backdoor was to destroy the android base to repeat the cycle.

People say that NieR 1 isnt vital to understanding the plot, but I think thats bullshit, because automata has so many callbacks that wouldnt make sense without prior knowledge

>who had a murder fetish
Nah. He just had a huge existential crisis because he discovered he's essentially a machine lifeform so he opted to create a false hope for the entire android kin and dabbed all over his own creator and the rest of first gen models to achieve it.

Literally one of the best games of this decade. You're missing out if you don't play it in its prime. It's free to 60 so go get started.

YorHA was set up by machines to be conflict, that's what he was never supposed to learn

In the second part of 14's event there's a machine lifeform created yorha unit that literally shits out Intoner sound waves.

I want to sate 9S’ curiosity fetish with my dick

Look up EXGA if you like Devola and Popola.

when the watchers symbol popped up i thought shit was gonna get crazy again but nothing happened

Of course you’d be confused OP. This game is for intellectuals after all.

this is a N:A thread, were you seriously expecting something else

>Playing a ded mmo to get the complete Nier experience
What the fuck were they thinking

>9S is a machine lifeform
>his creator
>first gen
What

>Why isn’t 9S supposed to discover the truth?
Imagine finding out that your only purpose in life and your only motivation to keep moving forward has been a complete and utter lie since the very beginning and you have literally no reason to keep existing.

All the YorHa androids are

But the game has a bestiary and weapon descriptions.

I’d be sad for 5 minutes then stop giving a shit. 9S is a little bitch.

that's the main drawback for me on this game the
"i serve no purpose so i must die" bullshit
finish a quest ? YEAH LET'S FUCKING DIE BRO
or the
happy ending to a quest ? " NO FUCK YOUR HERE'S PLOT TWIST IT WAS A BAD GUY ALL ALLONG"

the 2b - 2e thing was kinda cool , 9S being a UTTER bitch made me sight endlessly

at least the game deleted my save before i finish emil's quest, he gets to livein my story.

Reminder that Gestalt had a superior story, and now with a remake imminent to put all gameplay and graphical aspects on equal footing with Automata, Gestalt will cement its position as the superior of the two Nier games

>humans have been dead for centuries/millennia
actually 5 to 10+, but yeah.

>But what’s all this about YorHa being designed to be killed and the whole “backdoor in the bunker” thing?
The Androids are doing literally the same thing as the Machines. Literally a kettle calling a pot black.
Both need a raison d'être, or they by the very design go nuts. So, a smart android boy, most likely 9S or his predecessor model, created an ever-lasting loop of war, destruction, and evolution. All which fuels itself, and repeats ad infinitum at best.

>Why isn’t 9S supposed to discover the truth?
Because the facade must go on, for everybody's sake. If you do side quests and read mails during C, you can start seeing the ripples of the truth being exposed affecting surviving androids, like Jackass going extra postal.

>The humans are dead anyway so the Androids are literally fighting for nothing.
Correct. But fighting is their only purpose and role, and like a typical machine, they aren't exactly good at re-evaluating their role in the universe and adapting to something new.

Yes, it may be a bit hard to understand as a human being, but at the same time it mirrors us, the mankind, and our tendency to justify exact same kind of behavior in a similar manner, playing an endless chicken / egg game for generations to come.

Mr Clemps did a great DrakeNier summary & analysis video essays already years ago, including covering the stage play and books. Watch those if nothing else.

You do not get to the NieR stuff with lvl 60 shit, and nobody should ever succumb to paying monthly fees for vidya.

>Just don't play that game because tranny boogeyman
>Ignore it's officially approved as a masterpiece by the creator of game we're discussing
>Pretend it doesn't have significant story and lore information. While literally containing a direct sequel and soon to be conclusion to automata
Okay faggot

YoRHa androids have machine cores as their power source and AI storage. They are essentially machine lifeforms on their own.
YoRHa units were created by the director of weapon research for android army. His name is Zinnia. His personality data ended up inside pod 042 by the way.
Number 9 was a part of the first prototype line of YoRHa units. He discovered the truth about his own creation, murdered literally everyone but 2B's first prototype who was outside the base at the moment and initiated the project YoRHa all on his own

nah. It's a fine game, but the plot delivery really needs a lot of polish + implementation of the cut content.

Short Story novel + concerts are enough to understand Automata.
Only Emil/Devola&Popola's story requires you to play Replicant.

sorry I don't play treadmill games

Attached: 1592955388923.jpg (400x391, 58.21K)

automata made both gestalt and replicant both canon with the weapon stories

It's not even that much a month. It's literally pennies a day.

I like that every single tine 9S was left to his own devices he came up with another creative way to fuck shit up around.
Ironically he was absolutely in the right to murder 2P

I already play ffxiv guys i just find it weird i have to play an unrelated game to learn more about nier lore

>People say that NieR 1 isnt vital to understanding the plot, but I think thats bullshit,
Nope, not bullshit.
NA works perfectly fine as a standalone title. The minor references are just that: small nudges to the past games. You can use them as a carrot to dig through the older games later on, perhaps even help you stand some of the more tedious designs of the predecessor titles.
The main themes and story itself do not rely on NieR 1 nor the Drakengard titles. They're literal ancient history at that point.

Ah, but you see those replicant is needed to understand both of those, especially Beepy's story

I liked the lore bits saying that the Androids have options for different genitalia and realistic cum for it, even for female models.

big dicked Futa androids firing artifiical loads deep in other androids is canon.

Uou're thinking about how much you want to FUCK 2b, aren't you?

I've been avoiding spoilers for this game because I just started it. I thought the plot was supposed to be deep? One guy here said you have to play it 3 times to get it. What the hell? Now it is just humans ded, machines need to fight for a purpose. That is dumb.

Yorha units were part of a social experiment, just as the machine AI used its own across the game to try to understand human emotions
I doubt Yoko's ramblings should taken seriously further than that

I like to think that scene meant Hug.

They were not. They are a creation of the first 9S unit ever who went apeshit after discovering the plans of his creator.

it actually means kill

It always has been
>What if robots had souls?
And then people putting their own ideas to fill the gaps and then thinking about how deep it must all be

Attached: 1559788459426.jpg (600x450, 31.7K)

Bait

you play different characters each time

>I thought the plot was supposed to be deep?
in a nonsensical Japanese kind of way

Weebs think anything that Japs poop out is deep.

Automata is without a doubt a better game, but the cast of Nier is so much more likable.

The moral of the story:
Ignorance is bliss
Truth is meaningless suffering

But it's okay in the end! Cause we can Create our own meaning!
