Genshin Impact

Why is everything a grind in this game?
>Want to level up a character? You need materials since enemies give almost no experience
>Want to use that weapon you just got? Better upgrade it
>Want to equip those accesories? Better upgrade all 5 of them
>Want to get a higher level on your characters? Better ascend them

All this and a shitty stamina system.

Because it's a gacha game?

no different from wow user.

>why is a gacha a gacha
Moron. The real question is why are you still playing and supporting it when you clearly have a problem with it?

It's an RPG retard. You level things up in RPGs.

I already dropped it.

I play normal RPGs all the time and none of them have this much of a material grind or put so much of a focus on upgrading.

it's a gacha game, it's meant to give you long term goals that you chip away at for many months if not longer for f2p players. And once you do achieve those goals, the devs have added an even more grueling grind to keep the paypigs busy.

>Want to level up a character? You need materials since enemies give almost no experience
I'll target this statement, as I felt the same thing when I started playing. Like wtf! 10 xp from fucking nooks when the first level is over 1k xp! Horse shit I thought.
Then I realized it's no different from any modern rpg where the majority of xp comes from quest xp. Just in this game it allows you to spend that quest xp on whichever character you want. You are not forced to play as a character in order to level them up, you can continue using your favorite while buffing your secondaries.
Everything else seems like a complaint from someone further in the game then myself, as I have not done any abyss shit yet, so upgrading shit hasn't been nessecary yet.

It's more similar to an MMO than a conventional RPG.

So I just got a 4 star sword. 40% chance of cooldown reset when I do damage with an elemental attack. I gave it to jean since it seems spammable, but was that the best choice? Also is there any way to craft more of them so I can ascend it and up the % proc rate?

Name me a single rpg where none of this is true

Thank you for your input on discussions of issues with a video game on a video game board. If you make a BOTW thread I will be sure to provide some input over there as well, as I am sure somebody like yourself is capable of making a thought-provoking post that will drive discussion.

don't ignore 3 star weapons since they're way easier to refine, i've found that there doesn't seem
to be a great selection of one handed swords for wind characters so you might as well use that one.

Your comparison is untrue and unfitting.

That's true and it's sad. A single player game with MMO time-gated mechanics and limited multiplayer gameplay.

Yup, that's gacha for you. But, it's not exclusively singleplayer. You can still play with 3 other people and mess around in your world.

After leveling 3 or 4 people to 40 I exhausted most of my exp books.

What is untrue about my comparison? It doesn't fit with most JRPGs I will give you that, monster xp in JRPGs is definelty a primary source of levels in most all of them, in fact a lot of JRPG will give NO quest xp, as things like low level runs are something jrpg devs think about.
Most western rpg though, especially modern ones, have quest xp of many higher magnitudes then enemy xp. Even as far back as the OG baldurs gate you get most levels from quests not shit enemies.

So you spend real money. If you want to play this game without spending a cent, you are either antisocial or unemployed.

They copied some mechanics from BotW to try to lure poorfags who could not afford a nintendo switch with similar graphics and "exploration" mechanics. The sad truth is that they copied some mechanics without the cohesiveness of BotW exploration such as weather, environmental temperatures, equipment that allow you to survive in different biomes, etc.

Chrono Trigger.

explain right now how spending real money will let you upgrade your weapons, accessoires and ascend your characters faster

cope

I mean you can choose to grind or just explore and do dungeons naturally. Never grinded and have no problem with leveling items or characters

botw botw botw china china china anime anime botw botw china china gach gacha botw china

OMG IS THAT A POORLY DRAWN ANIME ARMPIT OMG I LOVE THOSE COOM COOM I LOVE CHINA NOW TAKE MY MONEY CHINA NUMBER ONE

you know you can buy materials from the shop with the starglitter and dust you get from rolling. either way whales will spend less time grinding for the same mats than f2p

pyw crab

>If you want to play this game without spending a cent, you are either antisocial or unemployed.
>drop $100 on rolls
>pull a character
>now need to pay for resin refills to make that character even usable
The level of chink jewery is fucking astounding.

>Buy currency to use wishes
>Use wishes to get new characters and weapons
>Use duplicate characters to empower those same characters/use duplicate or leftover weapons from those wishes to empower the really good ones
>Accessories and ascensions need resin, which can also be bought

At least try to make an argument, mate

COPE HARDER

The other option is this thing that does music shit and after 5 hits extra damage, but I honestly have not had time to try it out.

What's more astounding is that people are actually defending this garbage.
I wonder how many hours these people used to reroll accounts and how much money/satisfaction they could have attained by working/socialising
