Disregarding how successful Minecraft is, it lends itself way more to a Stage and Assist Trophy than a character.
If they had to add a popular zoomer franchise, a Fortnite character would have been way more appropriate.

I think it's a bit corny how often people think characters "deserve" to be in but beyond that yeah, he's iconic and has the best selling game in the world supposedly, it only makes sense. At least he's not as boring as another DLC fighter. I mostly just didn't want to see the board flooded in spam if he ever got announced which happened, it hasn't been as bad as I expected after the initial day though shockingly.
