Disallowing cloud saves on shit like Splatoon because your rating is saved on system is stupid. Splatoon, Pokemon and XBC2 are the 3 games you sink enough time into getting items and only XBC2 allows cloud saves.
Those emulators have no value because they insist on throwing 3rd party garbage no one played on to it instead of classics that helped sell their systems almost every month.

the voice chat situation is beyond retarded, even using the phone app you can't just make a party, it only works when you're in the lobby together (at least for smash) and then cuts out temporarily when the match is loading. i don't bother any more, i just bring my laptop and use discord but it's retarded that i need to do that.

otherwise it's mostly fine. could use more games in the nes/snes rotation and latency is sometimes bad, but overall it's ok.

Shit, the online is paid and somehow worse than on Wii U, ethernet cable support requires an accessory sold separately, the SNES and NES games come extremely slowly, no N64 or Gamecube games, no extra discounts for being an online member. Super shit.

Honestly, after the success that the Mario 3D collection had, I'm expecting them to start making more packs with 4 or 5 N64/GC/Wii games for 60 bucks each instead of just including them for "free" with the 20 bucks subscription.

Price isn't bad but it's still shit. Now that michaelsoft has their game pass thing, nes/snes online's weak library doesn't even compare.

Easily the best value on the market plus it grants access to a massive library of free retro Nintendo games. I think they should charge at least twice the current price to reflect the level of value and service a subscription provides.

Calling it free online itself is a misnomer. You already paid for it by buying the game and your own internet. It's even more egregious when Nintendo is all p2p, meaning even they're not paying for it. Add that to games like Splatoon which are $60 3 hour experiences without the online and it's absolutely scummy.
Nintendo was supposed to be better than this. It's sad how many people slurped up this shit.
