Strive trailers are anti-hype. The character starts being cool then knock back sends them to the other side of the stage. It is a bullshit anime fighter but sucks at what those are good for.

From the new gameplay it looks like pressure will still be a bitch but you can't do anything cool with the characters. Such an odd game

Arcsys wants so bad for Guilty Gear to be mainstream like but they have to face the facts that fighting games just aren't mainstream. Strive won't be more sucesful than Xrd was just because it got a new coat of paint and more black characters. The best they could do is pick another popular IP.

Fighting games can be but GG has a lot of unintuitive mechanics and fucked inputs. They'd have to completely change the game for it to be popular.

i wouldn't say xrd is unbalanced besides johnny and elphelt being in a tier of their own, but xrd definitely has a lot of bloat mechanics that really shouldn't exist definitely.

It will probably do better cause the brand has been built up a bit. They are a more notable company these days. But none of these experiments with gameplay or ui will change anything. Just wait till the lobbies are unchanged from the beta.
