That's a nice number.
You are clueless.
Buying it day 1.

Do you expect them to release 25+ characters using new assets or some shit? It's not as if it's taking less time to make new characters or animations.
>game has to have its main cast
>but the game is a rehash if it has no new characters
>but people get mad if new characters take up old slots
>but people get mad if unpopular old characters get in regardless
There's no fucking pleasing rosterfags.

Tekken 7 had a roster of 37 characters in the arcade release

fuck off animefag

Guilty Gear is a shit series news at 11

>he wants roster bloat on day 1
15 characters is plenty fuck off

I only want at least 20, we are talking about a series with a huge roster of characters and for now only 2 are new additions, even if the last one is new, Strive have less newcomers than SFV

That's really, really bad, but dumb corner shit does not equal a long combo heavy game, necessarily. What had people going crazy in footage of real matches that came out was shit like Potemkin doing retarded damage off an air-to-air conversion into three hits or something, but there wasn't anything wrong with that given the damage was high for EVERYONE and they all had their own ways of punishing big in few hits. But people want there to be combo DDR for "earning" damage but they also want it to be so easy that it's trivial, making it a waste of everyone's time.

Wait, so are you telling me I need to pay again for
>Baiken
>Johnny
>Dizzy
>Jam

Are they fucking nuts?

tekken 7 still unironically uses animation data from the ps1 and almost every male character shares the same rig and base body with some minor adjustments, same with females

I posted specifically because you mentioned a combo that consists of looping a move over and over until the in-game system cuts them off, which is exactly what that combo is. It's not a Sol exclusive thing either seeing as you could do the same thing with May's 6P in the beta. The point remains that those kinds of combos, even if they're in the corner, were there from the very beginning, it's not something they added later on.

Setting that aside though, I don't think the length of the combos in Strive is an issue at all, the length hasn't been an issue at any point. There was clearly intent for the combos to be around the length they were last time we saw it right out of the gate, they wouldn't have given Chipp a wall run for him to extend his combos with if they just wanted short but damaging combos. That's not something they just gave him because people complained about the damage output in the game. The problem with the damage as it was was just that games ended too quickly and it felt at odds with the combo system. The game had tools for combos that get into the double digits right from the start, but the damage was so high that you'd often end the round before you could even get to that point. Toning down the damage to remedy those problems is a sensible solution, and given the characters have beenclearly designed from the start to be able to do combos of at least moderate length, it's also the simple solution rather than reworking them all individually to suit the higher damage.

So yoy bought the same game barely unchanged from Tekken 6 with the same recycled character models all for 60 bucks. No wonder you Tekkuks are pathetic

xrd launched with less
for the absurdly ridiculous non-stop hand-made morphing thats in the animations and what the models needed to be built for, its actually kind of impressive

Tekken 7 had more newcomers than this fucking strivescam

yeah and most of the shit in tekken is exactly the same as it was in the last game (and the game before that, etc.)
meanwhile strive is trying to "take the series in a new direction" so they probably have to change a ton of shit

Why do you faggots even go into threads of games you dont play or even like?

>New series GBVS 12 characters at launch
>Guilty Gear, tons of legacy characters only 15

What are they thinking? people will not pay again for classic characters

Yes they will
See: NRS games, SFV and Tekken 7

remember when harada said he didn't want to charge for veteran characters because it was unfair to make people pay for something they've already played before

good times

Yeah and guess how many go unused in tournaments?
I'd rather have a focused title than one gorillon characters that will get ignored over a handful of top tiers.

15 characters are a fuck lot of characters.

They've been doing it since the GGX2 Slash though. Remember when they removed two character in AC, then added them back in AC+, then balanced them for normal play in AC+R? Haha.

>Do you expect them to release 25+ characters using new assets or some shit?
I think he expected them to expand on their perfectly fine existing assets instead of throwing them all away after 2 games.

>15 characters are a fuck lot of characters.

why do fighting games always rehash the same old animations from previous games with some sparkles added inbetween

>Do you expect them to release 25+ characters using new assets or some shit?
So it's ok for them to reset the roster to 0 everytime they need to do a minor fucking graphic overhaul? The entire point of them doing that shit from XX -> Xrd was
>MUH NEW ENGINE BAWWWWW TRANSITION FROM 2D SPRITES TOO HARD
so now you're saying with the same ass fucking engine they deliver a game with even fewer characters than console Xrd and you eat that shit up LMAO

and SFV bombed at first and don't tell me it has good sales now because a lot of them was with the game being cheap as shit

NRS and Tekken had huge rosters at launch

SFV bombed because not only was it a step down from IV, it lacked literally every function and feature every fighting game should have. IV also recycled characters user, but that game sold well.

It is, for a 1v1 2D fighting game.

MK11 launched with 15 characters

its so they can sell you dlc players, 10 bucks a pop, do you even money

Attached: 1455337796883.jpg (640x640, 34.58K)

the fuck? IV didn't have recycled characters, the series went into hiatus since third strike, I mean yes they have legacy characters as dlc but the roster in consoles was with 25 characters at least.

why are you lying? MK11 had 27 or 28 characters in the initial roster

Who wants fun combos and also wants them to be easy? Im actually asking who.
