Want your mage to cover himself in flames and fly like phoenix through the battlefield? Put some points in warfare
Hot take
Who cares about mages when what truly matters is that Ifan is the canon protagonist.
>using magic damage at all
Crossbows and Necro all day erry day
Why is he such a bitch? I made him sleep with the lizard girl in Act 2 TWICE and he still acts like an incel.
Is it worth playing? I've tried Pillars of Eternity but I never get past the castle near the beginning because I hate the combat. Also can I be a vampire?
You can be a cannibal elf or undead skelly. There's a vampire guy in BG3
PoE is worse, so yeah, give it a try.
I tried playing this on switch but I couldn't get into it after the prison ship scenario. The combat felt overwrought and sluggish but I really liked everything else and would like to give it another crack sometime. Any good resources online for general/in depth info?
Yeah he's unlikeable as a companion. But he's amazing as a protagonist!
you can sleep with her twice?
After the jig at the inn is up, she will beg you not to hurt her. You can forgive her and bone her again, at least that's what can happen if Ifan is your protagonist.
Can happen to any protag. It happened to my undead elf.
Reminder that Fane is the real protagonist because he's the Divine who committed the Original Sin. Definitely.
Also the only one who can get the Godking finale. Truly the real protag.
agree 100%
>10+ setpeices that are never shown to the player without Fane
>Starship troopers massacre every bug
>10+ setpeices that are never shown to the player without Fane
What?
I really don't like the way that armor and magic defense works in the game. It encourages you to make your party deal one damage type exclusively, with a few exceptions.
what the fuck
i swear i forgave her so i thought we could bone again but she refused
It's a game where turning enemies into chickens is something warriors do
bump
Polymorph was a mistake, everything about it is simply broken, the highest offender being Skin Graft scrolls.
i hate the armor system in this game. Does the new Baldur's Gate have it
>low class comic relief quipping sidekick
Pathetic.
There are too many easily accessible mobility spells in this game and ground effect spells/traps/hazards were far too nerfed due to people crying about it in the last game.
Which is a good thing considering how easy it is to choke-point enemies with hazards in the game.
>there will never be a competently done CRPG set in the warcraft universe that retcons the fact that WoW ever happened
why live
Lone Wolf breaks the game(Can solo the game, duo is absolutely wack)
Telekinesis breaks the game(One hit everything with a backpack)
Five Star Dinner breaks the game(Potion of nimble tumble, resist potions(If you have any thievery you can steal ingredients or potions right away(If you don't have thievery, use mirror)))
Polymorph breaks the game(Tentacle lash, Chameleon cloak, medusa head and spread your wings)
Deploy- and Mass Deploy Traps breaks the game
Strength warfare unga bunga breaks the game(Two knockdown skills at level 1? Don't mind if I do!)
Thievery breaks the game(Money becomes irrelevant)
Magic mirror where you can change your stats breaks the game(Everyone pickpockets NPCs in turns)
Pyroclastic eruption breaks the late game completely
Deathfog breaks the game
Getting Reckoning from Dallis is easy and breaks the game(Especially with deathfog barrel to Alexander's face)
Gift bags breaks the game, especially Endless runner and source meditation(Turns 2 things that took time before into fast as fuck spammable things)
Hothead is too strong, has no downsides and is stupid
All skilled up is broken and gives way too much power at beginning
Killing all NPCs before you move to next act has no minuses. You get free stuff and money
>"B-But muh roleplaying...!"
Unless it is very heavily a story NPC(Tarquin, Almira etc.) who sits on your boat, then it is free meat, money and xp. It encourages you to complete all quests in the act and then kill everyone you can.
The fact that Jahan doesn't go to Arx if you don't have Lohse in your party, making the best option to kill him for loads of xp after completing his quests, is stupid
The fact that you really cannot roleplay as the origin characters is stupid. For example you can't side with the doc as Lohse, go with Shadow Prince as Sebille. Only good choices allowed.
Nah man. You just end up standing around in raining fire that doesn't matter. Why even have it in the game? Nothing besides deathfog does anything.
Once upon a time I unironically thought that was the direction Warcraft would go in, if they expanded beyond the RTS genre.
Oh how wrong I was. R.I.P. Warcraft.
And despite all that, it is still one of the best RPGs of all time.
Warcraft died on WotLK.
Sorry, I'm an RPer, not an unga bunga powerbuild retard.
this is what playing only live service games does to your brain
I know. I have 700 hours in the game.
I just wish it was better
I find it hard to roleplay when choices don't matter at all. If you go full murderhobo at the end of the Act, nothing changes.
Many origin characters have no real choices either.
Arx choices have no impact, except if you save Justinia or not. Even if you release deathfog, the ending doesn't even mention it.
I wish I could RP, but the game makes it so hard. Closest thing to roleplaying there is, is to have an origin character as your partymember. Though if you and your friend both play as origin characters, someone will lose dialogue and progression(Roost Anlon with Ifan and Sebille).
>"He doesn't think the game is perfect, so he must be this kind of person!"
El retardo. The game is good, but has way too many flaws as well.
If you go murderhobo, your character is no longer a heroic or good person.
