This morning I woke up at 5am for some reason. It was lightly raining. I looked out the window and 3 little birds flew down and sat outside the windowsill. They all just looked up at me and sat there for a few minutes.

Then my cat ran over and hopped up onto the window, and they flew away. I laughed and petted her, and we watched the rain together.

That is the calmest moment I've felt in years. I wish I could enjoy simple pleasures like that every day.
