Should I buy into this platform or is it gonna die?
I really like the idea of cloud gaming but I'm not sure what ecosystem I want to jump into.

what do you mean buy into? like buying controller? i think it supports all the normal controllers. you don't need to buy the stadia one
I mean should I buy Stadia games or is this service likely to die?
It's going to die. Not a single person outside of Stadia gives a shit about their system
likely to die. google is on the verge of writing this off as a loss because the newest chrome cast device doesn't even have Stadia pre-loaded on it. if that isnt proof, indont know what is.
Stadia isn't on the new Chromecast. That's hoe much Google cares about it.
imagine going to rent a game and you have to pay 60 dollars for it.
yeah, buy stadia!
is there a running list of failed google projects?
i almost bought into this meme but they wanted me to pay them 2k to be their lab rat.
google : failed google products
fuck google
If you do get it then you're better off just paying the monthly sub and hoping something worthwhile gets added.
Yes, you should.
Only successes by google are the ones they buy, nothing they made stick besides gmail and search engine
It's going to die, obviously.
Cloud gaming is a dead concept. Stadia had predecessors, all of which bit the dust because cloud gaming is only worth it with gigabit internet living in s major city. Everyone who has that can afford a PC that provides twice the gaming experience.
It's already dead. Google has already given up on it.
Google isn't even supporting it anymore. It's dead, someone just needs to announce that.
If you're interested in it, at least buy the Amazon one since it's likelier to last longer.
>Amazon
>likely to last longer
A reminder that Amazon gaming's track record so far has been an engine they forgot they bought, a game they released and then promptly unreleased before eventually cancelling it, and a MMO that a month from release was delayed for a year and is now in some sort of bizarre persistent alpha.
Don't bank on Luna.
do you live next door to a datacenter? if not, then no
wait for luna or xcloud so you're only paying a subscription instead of paying upfront for games on a dead service.
props to them for not pushing the turd out. a year of dev time could turn it around
Everything will die
Is the value proposition worth it to you at this moment? Video games don’t hold value anyway.
It’s worth noting that video games decline in value due to game ownership. Services like stadia are actively trying to end game ownership which will allow publishers to subvert the natural market. Buying into stadia is buying into this bleak future.
I think it's more like their gaming efforts have collapsed internally and it's just on pause until someone makes the call to end it, much like Crucible.
How long will google support youtube on the WiiU. This is important.
even ps now is a better deal than this garbage
Wave Break!
They don't decline due to ownership, but a side-effect of ownership: uncontrolled availability.
If someone has a copy of an old game, the publishers can't sell you a low-effort clone of it later because you'll just go back to the better one and tell everyone else about it, which means they either have to continue offering that older version or lose out on sales due to the only option being piracy.
Developing good games is hard, so they want to lower the bar and make sure you only ever have access to new shit.
It literally died a month after the beta
Cloud gaming sucks but xcloud is the least worst and comes with a ton of benefits the others don’t.
