I was 17, played from day 1 until notch added rail boosters. Got back into it recently and it has just as much soul as it had 10 years ago, if not more thanks to the last updates, the new ocean, the new nether, the bees and shit. I'm having the time of my life.

I quit video games a while ago, I work, go to gym, have side projects. MC is the only game I play. Not everyone does things just because a streamer does them user. MC is fun and full of SOUL.


Old MC was made by a guy who had no idea what to do after the initial stage, and had so little idea he said fuck and left. Just look at his second game in space, same shit, cool idea then nothing. Modern MC is made by people who actually have a vision for the game and keep updating it after 10 years.

I'm normally one of those old good new bad kinda guys but i feel like minecraft today is in a way better spot than it was a few years ago. The only thing I think was better in the old versions was the pre-beta 1.8 world generation. But everything else just feels more fleshed out and complete in current minecraft.

I also played the crap out of the earliest MC. And that's why I don't understand how you can look at old gen and old lighting and say "yep that's soul", as if these things are what gave soul to MC.

What's more complicated than redstone? And no, ever since they stopped catering to autists and actually work on the game, i started to look like a finished product. Last updates were amazing and 1.17 looks phenomenal. Can't wait to see the future of MC.

Not sure what you mean. Old MC was amazing. New MC is also amazing since it's old MC but with many new non intrusive shit to do. I love the nether and end, I love thenew oceans, I love seeing the baby villagers running after one another, I hated enchants at first but now it's in my favorite things, I love the wither, I love the village n pillage update, I fucking love bees, I love seeing polar bears when I fly with my Elytra, I love farming for netherite.

Maybe it's because I didn't play for 10 years but current is the very definition of maximum SOUL.
