>lets make a controller with mouse like ability
>for the PC

One of Gabe's money laundering schemes no doubt

>tfw bought one but barely used it
>tfw going to sell it in 10 years when it's worth hundreds of dollars on eBay

Nothing. It's amazing for playing RPGs and turn based stuff in bed. I played Balder's Gate 3 with it since it had no controller support for some reason. Now I'm playing Pillars of Eternity 2. Works amazingly. People probably thought it was supposed to be used with games made for consoles, it's not.

it gets mogged by the xbox controllers.

also, the point of it is to be able to play "mouse-centric games" from the couch. but can you actually imagine playing something like age of empires with this lol

I have one and it's phenomenal. much more comfortable than the standard dualshock design too

I played DMC1 with it, worked well, in fact, the button layout makes it much more comfortable for repeated button presses.

Did you ever use one? This thing sucks so fucking bad.

>"d-pad" only actuates if you punch the industrial Emergency Machine Off switches on each direction, will spaz out if you even brush the pad with a feather

>Dogshit "bumpers" that probably came from real bumpers, from a car
>Triggers are ok though

>Using the "right stick" pad is completely imprecise which was the literal selling point of the controller
>using the "right stick" pad feels AND SOUNDS like going offroad in a toyota camry

>buttons kind of sucked

How many fucking people actually use their desktop PC attached to a television, outside of the bubble of seattle? Why do you have TWO desktops?

>Waaah I don't know how to customize things to my liking and when that fails, use a community config

It's a god tier controller for older games due to the ways you can configure it and the gyro inside of it gets put to good use in most of my configs. The people who have problems with it simply don't configure it well. When I don't use it for gaming I use it to control my PC from my bed which is much nicer than getting a wireless mouse and putting it on a book or some shit.

I'm legitimately mad that next gen came and the new controllers don't have grip triggers and gyro as an industry standard now.

>he doesn't have an HTPC in the home theater
big oof, sweety

I disagree.

And what does the TV have to do with it? I play both my consoles and PC on a monitor and I prefer playing with controller, steam controller is great, it just takes time to get used to and set up on a case by case basis.

I was thinking of setting up the buttons behind the triggers as upshift/downshift for some arcadey racing vidya, will work well IMO, wish more controllers had that

Triggers way too sensitive
Bumpers feel terribly cheap

Very little. Overall its solid and it software is fantastic, but all it needed was two things

1. To put the face button cluster in the right place and make the buttons the right size. This is the major issue where every other controller has face buttons at the "top, right, outside" locale so muscle memory is fucked up with the Steam controller. They could have put the Right Touchpad lower and inside similar to right stick on XBox / PS / Nintendo style controllers.

2. Ideally the ability to hotswap the right touchpad for a right stick module. Most of the time the right pad was fine as an alternative to a stick, but if it was an ideal situation users could have chosen between the two. This is a minor concern compared to the one above.

I'd love to see a Steam Controller 2 that fixes the above, plus possibly a Steam Controller 2 Elite that offers XB Elite S2 style upgrades and build quality too.

>He doesn't store all of his UHD Bluray rips on unlimited storage cloud services and pull them down directly through ethernet

not a good look sis

I disagree

I actually like the placement of the buttons, yea they could be a bit bigger but otherwise I prefer them. I played GoW1 and 2 with a dualshock 4 on ps3 and after 20 hours of button mashing it was actually painful. That doesn't happen with the button placement on the steam controller. At least for me.
You can't disagree since you haven't used one.

I disagree

Dust yours off and play a racing game where you switch gears with the bumpers

And then what? Yeah, some of us actually don't have to pretend.

I disagree

Playing Tokyo Extreme Racer 1 with it right now. Works incredibly well. Will do up your challenge and use the buttons on the triggers to change gears.

Steam cant into hardware
Valve index knuckles also have shit build quality

I wouldn't say steam controller build quality is the best but it's certainly not shit, especially when compared to dual shock 3 and 4 which are HORRENDOUS by every single mark.

No, I disagree

>Did you ever use one?
you certainly didnt tho

No, I disagree

I've been using mine for nearly 100 hours and it's still on the original batteries, what kind of dark magic is this?

No mainstream appeal.
Love mine since day 1 though, hoping those rumors for a new model are true.
Wouldn't recommend to everybody, mind you.

>he doesn't have a big TV in the same room as his PC to be able to quickly plug him HDMI cable in to play "console" games while comfy in bed

laughingwhores.jpg

>valve
>in charge of making hardware
>or software

this thing sucks my diharrhea dick

>when it's worth hundreds of dollars on eBay
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

If I'm so comfy, how come I'm getting out of bed?

They were $5 apiece when they went on firesale.
Anyone who could possibly want one already has one.
