Sounds about as confusing as it is possible to be really. "360", "Series", and "One" have no logical order what so ever, and the models "X" and "S" are only slightly ordered. It's easy to guess that the "S" might be the better of the two

Apples is bad but not half as bad as xbox. It is the Wii U issue but much worse because of all the models. Series S and X don't sound very different from One S and X to the more casual consumer, or for a parent.

Xbox has always been fucking awful with this shit though, I was working at gamestop when we had the 360, elite, and I think pro? idk. some bundle. Explaining that shit to every mom trying to get their kid a present was a nightmare, although at least now people usually know if they have an hdtv or not.

People say that a lot but so far I have not seen a single proof that people are getting confused.

Ironically the One X was smaller than the One S.

Up to PS4 Pro, the only difference between the ones before it was size, which is already made clear by the "slim". It's hardly on the same level as the Xbox stuff.

For most people, it's the only camera they will own and certainly the only one they'll carry with them every day.

The difference between a good phone camera and a bad phone camera is also pretty clear, even to the dumb consumer.

Iphones have a regular numeric naming convention. 12 is more powerful than 11. xbox doesnt have any numbered convention and instead uses the same letter in the last generation. Microsoft has to hope retail outlets dont sell last gen consoles or they are fucked

Assuming the 70% price coming from the camera is true I'd be inclined to agree.

But to be honest, flagship phones are already unnecessary in so many ways. I don't think most people who have the beefiest mobile processor with more RAM than my laptop actually use it for anything much besides email and internet. There's absurd resolution in phone displays. Even the capacity for network speeds of hundreds of Mbps is wasted for most people.

The camera at least gives nice photos, and again for your average person it's gonna be the only camera they own.

you are an absolute brainlet. It's designed specifically to run games equally as well as the X just at a lower resolution. Where the X is 4k, the S will be 1440p. Where the X is 1440p, the S will be 1080p, etc. Framerates and graphical features are intended to maintain parity no matter what game it is.

Im happy they got back to the 4/4s/5/5s/se design. Its peak kino. Fun fact the design itself turned 10 years old, which is probably why they decided to go with that this time.
