whats the point in struggling with a game if theres no real struggle at all? if everything just feels automated like its just designed to let me have fun? i hate games like that
i want the game to be almost like a person that wants to see me fail and just give up
give me tasks that require me to just wait for real life hours
give me characters who can die permanently without noticing me about that before
i want games to experiment and go beyond giving me just a nice gameplay loop that loses its excitement after a few hours those are the type of games i immediatly forget about
YIIK on the other hand keeps me thinking its a real game made by real people with a real intention behind it

It was as shit as it looked, dropped the Let's Play after 2 videos.

The combat looked horrible with those damn minigames for every single action.

Regardless of the quality of Undertale itself, it's still better than YIIK in those regards

I cannot believe they got away with this line.

I genuinely like the artstyle. I like some of the scenes, especially when it gets trippy. I like some of the music.

But on the other hand, the combat is slow horrendous slog that you have to break, and even then it's not fun. Characters are all boring and do nothing but dump tons of dialogue on you. The story is pretty good in the first half, but it shits the bed in the end and even the dev knows this with their "there are actually thre- no FOUR endings" shit. The story also makes no sense, for example Proto Michael is never brought up again after he ascends and Alex talks shit to him and Essentia breaks rules of the already established universe.

I tried to like YIIK, I really did. But it's a 5/10 game that tried too much and accomplished nothing.
