Tripping seems like an old meme these days and only really affects hammer.
Since it is the most played weapon it also has the most shitters though.

Why do people even use hammers so much, when the GS is way better. It can unga bunga AND guard.

I like hammer because it's like a more mobile GS. Plus I love sending people flying with the uppercut.

I played with an LS user from /mhg/ recently against Fatalis and he was probably the best LS player I had ever seen. 0 carts, crazy damage even without breaking the head until the final phase and whenever Fatalis did his 360 flame breath, he jumped over it with a helm splitter. I couldn't fucking believe it.

All wapons have good players, it's just that LS has a ton of bad ones

I've been using longsword for the entirety of my MH career (only started using GS and DBs in world) and still only feel like a sligthly above average player. Heck, I have never used foresigth slash, not even a single time.
Still soloed fatty with it , even if it took me 30 tries

I use lance if I know people are gonna be shitters and cart. If it's an easier monster I use switch axe to break every part on the bastard.

World should have never added the anti trip skill

Overall I prefer evading rather than blocking and GS just feels way too sluggish for me, hammer leaves you with much more freedom and a lot of cool shit that feel really good to pull off /spam like the slide charged attack
But there would be no need for this if people weren't retarded, a lot of monsters have an easy tailcut that greatly benefit the team and fatty's head is big enough for 4 if people don't just pile up and hug it like retards
