Because the industry needs a good ol' capitalist "weeding out" where the studios fail and the industry has needed one for a while. A perfect example is the battlefield franchise, where BFV's sales were so bad compared to older installments that the franchise isn't getting a new release until 2021-2022 because EA is concerned the franchise isn't profitable anymore.

You know it and I know it, there's a serious amount of companies in this cursed industry that should've died long ago.
