Imagine if this was a single player/co-op rpg. It could have the same progression system of gathering different materials through the world except make it way less grindy (you need literally hundreds of random shit like berries depending on the character you are ascending to get them maxed out). No gacha just dedicated sidequests to unlock specific characters (maybe lock some behind challenges like abyssal dungeons etc).
The more I play this game the more sad I become thinking about how this game could by GOTY if it wasn't a motherfucking gacha game. Co-op in this game is extremely limited I know friends who play this game, but we don't even get to fucking play together we just discuss team comps and whine/cheer depending on how our pulls are going. Over the last 3 days I've reached Adventure rank 26 which is somewhat nearing the endgame so I have some justification behind my opinions on the game. The music, voice acting, character design etc are all top fucking notch in this game the combat feels fresh (game needs more enemy typesthough). I pulled Venti and Fischl (both great characters) as a f2p player so im really not complaining about the gacha due to salt, I don't even feel like there are any characters I want all that badly at this point, but I can not even fucking level up the characters I own due to the insanely grindy nature of ascension PLUS I am practically hard locked out of getting enough xp books (I can do dailies and thats literally fucking it).
I wish someone we're able to crack this game for offline play with a trainer letting you add shit you want like xp books so you can just play the damn game without being interrupted by all the little systems put in place to maximize player retention (forcing you to have short play sessions every day instead of taking extended breaks between longer play sessions), maximize micro transactions (locking xp books behind pay walls making sure you as a player run out of player books, and 0,6% gacha rates)

Well what do you expect user gatcha games make the game tedious so you play the game for longer and have higher chance of whaling. if GI was normal game people would already finished the game in 3 weeks. but here 2 weeks in an not eve the a fourth of the main quest is disponible

The elemental reactions are the only interesting thing about this game, and so they lean too heavily into it. I'm not asking for DMC levels of combat here but come on. You have four characters that have so little individuality you have to combine them all to have an even remotely interesting time with fighting.
To say nothing of the gacha.
It's a pretty bland and generic anime fantasy world, with fairly bland and generic characters. If the game cost even $1 I reckon the buzz about the game would drop by at least a quarter.
